Description

The Principal Industrial Designer represents deep domain expertise, organization seniority, and is an inspiration to the team by their accomplished level of mastery. This role is modeled after our founder Hartmut Esslinger, and as such, the Principal Designer is expected to actively possess all of the discipline skills and be a master of form, finish, sketching, CAD, rendering, model-making but most importantly deep conceptual thinking that drives it all.

The Principal Industrial Designer brings their personal point-of-view to each unique challenge and always comes up with a compelling solution. The Principal needs to be comfortable working independently in addition to leading a team and guiding clients through presentations.

The Principle Designer is based in a studio, but can operate in a consultative role throughout the organization. He is at the ACD or CD level in terms of experience and expertise but does not have any direct reports. The Principal reports directly to the studio CD or ECD, depending on level.
