Summary:

Crystal Dynamics is looking for a talented, enthusiastic, and highly motivated individual with a demonstrably thorough understanding of animation workflow and tools to join us in a Gameplay Animation role in building our next AAA title. For this role, we are looking for an individual with outstanding communication skills and a proven track record in providing animation rigs and tools, having successfully completed at least two product cycles.

The Gameplay Animator will work in support of the Lead Animator to ensure the animation team is working at their most efficient and at the highest quality while knocking down roadblocks as they arise. With fellow Animators, they will continuous identify ways to improve our character pipeline. This animator will have a strong technical background and proficiency in working in node-based animation editors and state machines as well as motion capture clean-up tools like Motion Builder.

Essential Duties:
  • Work directly with the department Lead and Senior Animators as well as Designers to identify and execute on the animation needs of the game
  • Create 3D in-game animations that seamlessly mix with the animations of other team members
  • Visually scripting animation graphs/ trees
  • Work under the guidelines of the Art Director to maintain the games visual identity
  • Working in a collaborative environment where feedback is welcome
  • Producing high quality animations on time
Essential Requirements, Competencies, Skills & Knowledge:
  • 5+ years of experience in animation for AAA games.
  • Strong understanding of both figure and facial anatomy.
  • Ability to self manage and take initiative.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Must have a positive attitude and be a team player.
Bonus Requirements:
  • Complex character/creature rigging experience in Maya for games or film.
  • Strong knowledge of MEL and/or Python.
  • C# or C++ knowledge
