Position Summary:
We are seeking a creative, multiplayer focused Lead Economy Designer who is excited to join us at Crystal Dynamics. You'll be responsible for designing and driving progression systems, engaging rewards, and setting a path for an ongoing in-game economy. As a Lead at Crystal, you will be responsible for the executional quality of the game’s vision through direct contribution and management of a multidisciplinary team to deliver AAA quality gameplay experience on time and budget.
Essential Duties:

  • Concept, design and help implement economic and reward systems from concept through completion.
  • Develop flexible systems and architecture to allow for iteration and response to player behaviors.
  • Analyze engagement and suggest and implement responses.
  • Document design decisions clearly and communicate to key stake holders.
  • Lead, manage, and mentor other designers on the team. Serve as a champion for an engaging reward loop for our players.
  • Collaborate across disciplines to ensure successful integration of systems into the game.
  • Provide data-backed recommendations on balance and pricing.

Essential Requirements:

  • Experience as a senior economic/progression systems designer with at least one shipped product in this role.
  • Hands on experience designing, documenting, and tuning economic/reward systems.
  • Ability to align with creative leadership team and then take initiative.
  • Effective cross-discipline communication.
  • Strong interest in playtesting and responding to feedback.
  • Ability to translate analytics into actionable recommendations.


  • Experience working on a title with significant post launch support.
  • Understanding and experience in different ongoing business models.
