Position Summary 

We are on the hunt for a UX Designer to provide documentation for interaction design that adheres to a cohesive UX guidelines and maintain consistency between the design direction and visual direction determined by the UX / UI Director. This individual will be an integral part of the team designing, in-engine prototyping, creating, implementing, and optimizing UI assets for our next title. This position is responsible for maintaining the studio's standards of high design and visual fidelity, hyper realistic aesthetics, and presenting game information in a clear and understandable manner.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Partner with the UX / UI Director to establish and execute the UI design and aesthetic 
  • Design and create UX components and flows (ex. menus, stats and inventory screens, in-game HUD elements, etc.) 
  • Rapidly iterate and develop solutions to design challenges while following creative direction 
  • Develop visual design systems that achieve goals from both game design and UX perspectives 
  • Collaborate and communicate with UX Designers, UI Artist, game designers, producers & programmers in the creation and implementation of the game UI 
  • Test functionality and bug fixing to ensure work is end user ready 
  • Contribute to the design and streamlining of UI tools and processes 
  • Interfacing with Programmers regarding projects 

Essential Requirements 

  • 2+ years' experience as a UX Designer within the games industry 
  • Experience prototyping within Unreal Engine, or equivalent 
  • Proficient with industry standard design tools (ie Figma) and how they integrate into engine 
  • Strong understanding of design process, principles, game navigation, and common UX patterns 

Bonus Skills & Experience 

  • Scripting or basic markup languages  
  • Artistic background (painting, texturing experience, illustration, and animation skill) 
  • 3d presentation (working with cameras or models with UX designs)
