Job Description:

Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Staff Accountant will be responsible for processing full cycle Accounts Payable, processing semi-monthly payroll, and assist with Month end close, annual audit and other projects..

Essential Duties:

  • Review and assist with full accounts payable cycle
  • Back-up for processing payroll and accounts payable
  • Maintain Fixed Asset schedules and team with IT for annual inventory and audits
  • Prepare month-end and Quarterly close schedules including accruals, prepaid schedules and other journal entries
  • Prepare Annual Property Tax Filing and audits
  • Assist in preparation of schedules for Corporate Insurance Renewals and corporate taxes
  • Participate in annual financial audits
  • Assist in preparation of annual budgets and mid-years forecasts
  • Assist with preparation of Budget v Actual analysis
  • Assist the team to accomplish department goals and objectives
  • Assist in implementing and following the controls required to achieve SOX 404 compliance
  • Provide support on special projects and ad hoc analysis

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 3+ years of general ledger, month-end close and reconciliation experience
  • 3+ years of experience processing payroll for 100+ employees
  • Strong working knowledge of ADP Payroll processing is a MUST
    • Understand usage of proper payroll taxation of employer paid benefits
    • Namely Payroll experience is a plus (not a must)
  • Ability to work independently to achieve objectives in established time frames.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel (Ex: vLookups, Pivot tables) and Word
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to perform multitasked assignments.​​
