Crossroads Animal Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Technician/Assistant to join our amazing three-doctor animal practice in Moody, AL. You'll be joining a full service, collaborative team. In addition to joining our three full-time doctors, you will be supported by a team of technicians, and our practice manager. We have fear free certified doctors on our team!

We deploy and integrate our technicians kills to their full potential. This is a challenging position that will require you to multitask in different areas throughout the hospital.
Responsibilities and Duties
Providing quality patient care
Entering medical notes
Triage calls & appointments
Maintain cleanliness of treatment and surgical areas
Kennel and hospital maintenance
Drawing blood or collecting other lab samples
General nursing duties
Animal handling and restraining
In-house and outside laboratory testing
X-ray Hospital Standards and Protocols
Dentistry
Obtain history and vital signs for patient exams
Assist doctors during patient exams
Help maintain the flow of patients throughout hospital
Pharmacy and inventory
Anesthesia & surgical monitoring
Providing exceptional client care and education
Mentoring less experienced staff
Cross-training in all areas of the hospital
Technical Requirements
I.V. catheter placement
Phlebotomy
In-house laboratory
Surgical prep
Anesthesia/surgical monitoring
Dental procedures
- X-Rays
General Requirements
2+ years' experience in a veterinary setting
Compassionate and proficient patient care
Comfortable handling both cats and dogs
Strong communication skills
Organizational and leadership skills
Ability to multitask
Flexibility (ability to work weekends)
Experience with veterinary software (e.g. Neo, AVImark, Cornerstone)
Strong customer service skills
Work well in a team environment
Remain calm under pressure
Preferred / Nice-To-Haves
Certification with an accredited program
Interest in management
Spanish fluency
