Position Overview: 
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for performing daily functions of the Human Resources department, delivering a variety of human resources services, and maintaining records.  
 
Job Responsibilities: 
  • Collaborate with management and provide employee relations and performance management recommendations; coach, counsel, and educate all levels of employees on HR policies, programs and procedures. 
  • Attend, participate in, and assist with conducting meetings regarding positions, compensation, employee performance, terminations, and investigations. 
  • Conduct employee relations investigations from notification through resolution; develop investigation plans; prepare, track, and maintain investigation documentation. 
  • Support Human Resources functions. Serve as contact for employees and managers to answer inquiries and provide general employee information, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff. 
  • Identify company training needs relating to Human Resources topics such as performance management, policies, and procedures; prepare training materials; conduct training sessions and evaluate training effectiveness. 
  • Facilitate the performance management process; report on, notify management of and track the completion of performance reviews.  
  • Compile and analyze data for correspondences and reports. 
  • Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resources programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; performance and talent management; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development. 
  • Process employment changes, including the completion of personnel action forms, sending email notifications, and maintaining employee records. 
  • Maintain a confidential organized filing system for correspondences, policies, and standards. 
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 
Qualifications and Skills: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, related field, or equivalent combination of education/experience preferred. 
  • 2-4 years of human resources experience, required. 
  • 1-3 years of employee relations experience, preferred. 
  • SHRM-CP a plus. 
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations; including but not limited to FLSA, FMLA, ADA, Title VII, ADEA, etc.  
  • Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.  
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management skills. 
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
