As the Head of Business Conduct and Ethics, you will be responsible for advising on a wide range of compliance and ethics matters, overseeing the global compliance and ethics programs, aligning, and coordinating priorities, and activities with functional stakeholders. Not only that, you will drive and execute the vision and strategy of data privacy compliance in accordance with the company’s fundamental values and business objectives. This role serves as the face, voice, and primary point of contact to both internal stakeholders and key business partners for all compliance related matters, including privacy.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Provide strategic direction and advise on ethical and legal compliance matters across the company in a wide range of areas, including anti-corruption, anti-money laundering, competition, economic and trade sanctions, conflicts of interest, human rights, and data privacy/protection
  • Proactively identifies compliance risk areas and strategies to mitigate them
  • Drive program objectives, milestones, metrics, and reporting to continually enhance and scale the global compliance and ethics programs
  • Develop, maintain, and regularly assess policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Conduct, oversee, and provide support in connection with internal investigations
  • Regularly provide reports to senior management and the board on compliance and privacy-related matters and the company’s compliance and privacy program
  • Drives and owns the development, management, and implementation of the company’s privacy posture, data ethics, and general compliance program
  • Enhances and elevates the company’s privacy program by crafting and delivering training and awareness that supports the company’s privacy posture with customized delivery for key stakeholder groups
  • Keep abreast of developments in federal, state, and international privacy laws and regulations
  • Develop and deliver creative and effective ethics, compliance and privacy training and awareness campaigns
  • Ensure updates to policies and processes are properly implemented for the business to address legal and privacy requirements, including data subject access requests, privacy impact assessments, and records of processing activities
  • Monitors and audits compliance efforts and benchmark against plan
  • Serves as a strategic liaison to the business to balance risk with business opportunity as it relates to privacy and compliance
  • Be the evangelist across the organization to champion a best-in-class compliance and privacy offering, providing stakeholders with practical, actionable advice and risk-based guidance and support
  • Cultivates an intimate understanding of the business to align with the privacy and compliance program accordingly
You’ll need to have:
  • Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Admitted to one or more US State Bar
  • 8-10+ years of domestic and international compliance experience
  • Significant experience overseeing the response to high-stakes regulatory investigations and conducting associated internal investigations
  • Excellent legal and business judgment; a high degree of discretion; strong analytical skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills; and strong presentation skills
  • Proven ability to understand legal and regulatory concepts and convert them into relevant, practical business requirements
  • Expertise in US, Canadian and foreign privacy and data protection laws strongly preferred
  • Strong integrity of character and strength to educate and advise business leaders and teams on complex matters
  • Ability to communicate effectively, exercise good judgment in decision making, understand and synthesize complex issues and execute on plans
