About the Role: If you are a self-motivated, goal-oriented individual who effectively manages multiple deadlines with a focused attention to detail, then this is the job for you! As the Senior Financial Analyst you will be working within the Finance Department and report to the Manager, Financial Reporting. You will be responsible for assisting in the preparation of the US GAAP Financial Statements and related MD&A disclosures in a publicly traded environment.  In addition, you will be responsible for assisting with the monthly close process and special projects as needed. The ideal candidate is motivated, collaborative and forward-thinking.

This position is remote within the United States.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Implement new financial reporting standards as required by US GAAP
  • Assess impacts on financial reporting processes and internal controls, as well as changes to business metrics resulting from new accounting standards
  • Prepare technical accounting memos on transactions and initiatives, as well as existing applications of US GAAP in light of evolving industry practices and benchmarking
  • Prepare financial statements and note disclosures for the quarterly and annual financial statements required for external reporting, as directed by the Manager, Financial Reporting
  • Prepare disclosures and supporting schedules for Management’s Discussion & Analysis as directed by the Manager, Financial Reporting
  • Be a primary source within Cronos for all technical accounting questions on issues that may arise from any aspect of the business 
  • Assist in the monthly close process, including preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Build and maintain accounting policies for the Finance Team
  • Assist with special projects as needed

Qualifications:

  • CPA, CA or U.S. CPA Designation is preferred
  • Exceptional understanding of U.S. GAAP, including technical accounting and reporting requirements
  • Solid technical skills, with a minimum of 2 years of financial/corporate accounting experience, including auditing public companies (preferably US GAAP reporting). Big 4 experience is a plus
  • Experience with external financial reporting of publicly traded companies (both US and Canadian markets preferred but not required)
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Knowledge of SAP or a similar ERP system is an asset
  • Experience with OneStream, Hyperion, or BPC (consolidation software) is preferred but not required
  • Experience with Workiva is a plus
  • Experience with global operations and foreign exchange rates is a plus
  • Collaborative team player, who interacts professionally with all levels including staff outside of the Finance group and external auditors
  • Proven leadership and collaborative skills with a broader Finance team, implemented significant initiatives with passion for exceptional performance
