Cronos Group is seeking a Production Artist who will work within the Marketing & Innovation team. As the Production Artist, you will be responsible for building prepress ready art files and images that comply with in-house protocols. The ideal candidate will have experience with CPG packaging, a keen eye for detail and QA'ing proofs for all sorts of printed/digital assets. The ideal candidate is energetic, collaborative, and forward- thinking.

This position is based out of Canada (remote). 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Proofread and QA artwork proofs and final files - ensuring consistency, colours, settings, Regulatory considerations, etc.
  • Resize and reformat creative into numerous variations for print and digital
  • Support the senior team throughout the execution of campaigns and projects while working on a variety of different brands, projects and skus
  • Accountable for using the principals of good design to layout and format all marketing and promotional materials, brochures, flyers, sell sheets, and banners
  • Translate Design team concepts effectively against objectives and deliver on schedule
  • Work collaboratively with various teams to bring design projects from concept to completion
  • Prepare final press-ready files based on supplied specifications for several types of output requirements
  • Co-ordinate the circulation of artwork and pre-press proofs for review and final approvals from internal stakeholders (Regulatory, Legal, Marketing/Trade) and external vendors as needed (designer, prepress, printer) ensuring 100% accuracy of printed package
  • Stay up to date with the latest design trends, materials, and production processes
  • Additional responsibilities as required

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in design, visual arts or related program
  • 5+ years as a Production Artist or similar title responsible for proofing print files ensuring colour, crops, bleeds, etc are all per original design
  • Robust knowledge of print production for Packaging
  • Excellent layout and typography skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail and an ability to build clean, technical files ready for production
  • Solid working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Demonstrate relentlessly high standards while fostering passion, integrity, and energy
  • Organized and agile with a knack for juggling multiple projects concurrently in a deadline-driven environment Self-motivated, capable of working in a remote work environment
  • Great communication skills with internal and external stakeholders, capable of expressing opinions and feedback without offending others  
  • A problem solver, forward thinking with a creative and solution-oriented approach
  • Sound decision making, resolving open items swiftly and efficiently
  • Experience working in cannabis or other regulated environments is an asset.
