Reporting directly to the CFO, the Senior Director, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) is responsible for the overall financial planning for all Cronos Group. The Senior Director, FP&A drives a proactive partnership between FP&A and all Cronos departments, identifying trends and opportunities to advance the overall business and financial strategy. This is a highly visible financial role, frequently interacting directly with teams across the organization as well as senior management to drive business growth.

This position can be based out of Toronto, ON or the US.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead financial planning and forecasting activities, including forecasting, annual budgeting process and long-term strategic planning
  • Provide financial leadership and guidance through business forecasts, conveying meaningful insights to prospective profit impacts related to changes in selling prices/volumes and/or cost reductions as market conditions dictate and in support of business growth
  • Lead reporting initiatives for executive management and Board of Directors which summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations
  • Foster strong business partnerships with business unit and service functions (Legal, Finance, HR) teams, gathering and providing business insights across the company to proactively identify process efficiencies and report redesign opportunities
  • Develop financial models to predict, track, and report on business growth and trend, initiatives, and key projects
  • Continuously improve budgeting, reporting, analysis framework along with standardizing, automating, and enhancing systems, tools, and processes
  • Lead, coach and develop the FP&A team into trusted financial partners for the business
  • Evolve and refine the business metrics and reporting to provide more insightful information to leadership and design dashboards to provide transparency on important KPIs
  • Partner with senior leadership to support key business decisions through ad-hoc analyses
  • Oversee financial analysis when evaluating pricing, valuation, and operational decisions
  • Play a key role in business case preparation for M&A activity and new product development recommendations
You’ll need to have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting/Economics or related degree required, MBA, CFA and/or CPA preferred
  • 10+ years of corporate accounting and/or FP&A experience
  • Understanding of US GAAP principles
  • Demonstrated results-oriented financial leadership; experience leading a finance team, recruiting, and developing staff to drive exceptional performance
  • Demonstrated ability to implement and utilize technology to facilitate and improve processes, reporting and other FP&A functional areas
  • Excellent financial analysis skills to provide strategic guidance to leadership in the areas of financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting
  • Solutions oriented, utilizing technical expertise and good business judgment in support of operational and strategic objectives
  • A team player mentality, ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of staff and leadership on a regular basis
  • Demonstrated ability to succeed in a performance-driven culture. Open to and comfortable with shifting priorities, new challenges, and managing increasing levels of complexity and ambiguity
  • A roll up the sleeves attitude, comfortable transitioning between tactical execution and strategic thinking
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented individual who can effectively manage deadlines
  • Displays integrity and is accountable for actions and statements
  • Experience working within the consumer-packaged goods industry is a plus
