First Cregger location in Columbia, SC opened

Started on a $50,000.00 loan and purchased old KLine Supply Company for $309,000.00 on a five year (note). We had six associates, no computer system, no line of credit and no cash after our initial down payment on the business. First year we did $2,345,715.00 and cleared $18,000.00 pre-tax. Sheila Cregger maintained her regular job and did our accounting work in the evening, manually, at our kitchen table.

The company was basically 100% plumbing products adding HVAC in early 2010 and ranked as one of the Top Distributors in North America and is Goodman's second largest Independent Distributor.

Cregger Company acquires Rampart Supply in Colorado, a strong plumbing distributor with over 250 employees, and locations in Colorado Springs, Denver, and Pueblo.

Starting in 2014, the executives of Cregger Company decided that 10% of a branch's quarterly profits should be distributed to the branch's team as part of a Quarterly Incentive Program. Additionally, we offer year-end bonuses to our staff who work in positions outside of a branch.

    As a wholesale distributer, much of our business is spent working with vendors to purchase materials at the most competitive price and our associates get to reap the benefits of our buying powers. Our associates can purchase material 10% above company cost.
