A financial services company in Plano has an immediate opening for a Manager - IT Security and Network. This role will provide hands on Cyber Security and Network Configuration support as well as lead/manage the helpdesk and Systems Administration services for the company.

What you will do: 
  • Secure the company’s IT assets including software and hardware 
  • Secure Firewalls, Network, Servers, PCs, Laptops and Mobile devices 
  • Secure MS Azure cloud and AWS Cloud components and services  
  • Conduct and monitor pen tests and fix vulnerabilities 
  • Handle security related aspects of Firewalls, switches, routers, VPN, remote management, security gateways  
  • Protect the company by working directly with 3rd party vendors on all Cyber Security projects – penetration tests, server patches, desktop / laptop patches (via WSUS) and network configuration 
  • Install and upgrade computer and network components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes (e.g., Microsoft WSUS) 
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues 
  • Work with IT leadership to plan and implement new infrastructure or upgrades of existing IT infrastructure 
  • Perform or delegate regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures 
  • Experience with helpdesk support efforts, to help make sure all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions 
  • Responsible for capacity, storage planning, and network performance 
  • Perform periodic bandwidth testing and ensure that network connectivity is optimized 
  
What you should have: 
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or related field. Equivalent experience may also be considered in lieu of a degree. 
  • Minimum of 7-8 years of hands-on security and network administration experience 
  • Minimum 2-3 years of management experience with a team of direct reports managing helpdesk and sys admin functions.  
  • Experience installing and managing servers, desktops, laptops, and software patches. 
  • Experience with conducting pen tests and fixing problems. 
  • Strong knowledge of implementing and effectively developing helpdesk and IT operations best practices, including expert knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols 
  • Experience with Secure Firewalls, hands on experience with Cisco ASA or Palo Alto and/or Panorama 
  • Full understanding of Firewall concepts (Security Zones, Security policy ordering, Searching and Sorting Audit logs, Address Sets, negated addresses, User Roles and tables, route-based policies, address-books, Application traffic control, etc.) 
  • Good understanding of routing (OSPF/EIGRP/BGP) and switching technology 
  • Excellent understanding of Proxy based product (hands-on preferred) 
  • Good knowledge of Linux and Windows 
  • Excellent understanding (hands-on preferred) on various security technologies including, VPN's, IDS/IPS, end point security solutions (AV, HIPS, and Hard Disk Encryption), Authentication products (Bitglass, MS Defender), Content Security Gateways (Cisco IronPort Web/Mail Security Gateways), DLP, Load Balancing 
  • Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols 
  • Experience with scripting and automation tools 
 
Preferred experience/qualifications: 
  • Experience with firewalls, switches, routers, VPNs, remote management, troubleshooting, and problem resolution preferred 
  • Azure AD, MS Defender experience desired 
  • AWS Security experience (Security Groups, NACLs, Security Policies) 
  • Security, System administration and IT certifications (CISSP, CCNA etc.) are a plus 
  • Certifications in Linux, Microsoft, Cisco, or other network related fields are a plus 
  • Working knowledge of virtualization and VMWare and hosting in the Cloud 
  • AWS and Azure security certifications desired
