Credible is looking for a Systems Engineer to support a fast-paced, challenging environment within the behavioral health industry.  The Systems Engineer will be responsible for configuration, maintenance, and ensuring optimal operation of a highly available hosting environment with a strong emphasis on automation and helping us improve our DevOps processes.

Overall Responsibility for Systems Engineer:

  • Responsible for the configuration, maintenance, automation and optimal operation of a highly available hosting environment.

Success Defined for Systems Engineer:

  • Automate proper installation of web servers – Mostly Windows/IIS environment.
  • Ensure proper documentation and change controls.
  • Automate and ensure proper backups and restores of data.
  • Have advance troubleshooting skills to resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Patch Windows servers using WSUS or SCCM
  • Have experience automating system engineering tasks.
  • Have advance knowledge and understanding of VMware vSphere.
  • Have experience in Netscaler (or load balancing) equipment.
  • Have an advanced knowledge of storage technologies and configuration.
  • Have an advance understanding of networking and network protocols such as TCP/IP.
  • Perform daily system monitoring of hardware and server resources.
  • Ensure extremely high availability and uptime for a 24x7 production environment.

  • Ownership and accountability for ensuring high availability and uptime for web and hosting environment related issues including:
  • Windows and IIS Configuration and troubleshooting with timely resolution and escalation.
  • Rapid escalation required to Development for any code related issues.
  • Documentation of and adherence to Industry standard best practices and change control for configuration and maintenance for all components in a 24x7 production environment located in a remote data center.
  • Thorough testing of all changes prior to those changes entering production with prompt escalation to QA for any pertinent issues.
  • Following time tracking and other processes in the Credible Tasks system for accurate and thorough capture of duties, as performed.

Initial Key Drivers for Systems Engineer:

  • Successfully work with all Credible departments to quickly, thoroughly, and accurately address infrastructure, Windows server and/or IIS-related issues in a dignified, positive, and professional manner.
  • Per IT Department policies, procedures, and schedule, emergency and off-hours availability for production-related troubleshooting, additional testing, pre-staging, configuration changes, code release, and troubleshooting.
  • Other duties customarily associated with Windows/IIS Administrator, as well as additional duties as necessary.


  • The System Engineer will be responsible for installations, upgrades, backup, recovery, automation, configuration, optimization, and monitoring of physical and virtual environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree, relevant industry certification and 5+ years of data center or enterprise level experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in Enterprise level Windows Server administration in a physical and virtual environment
  • Ability to monitor, identify, and troubleshoot key indicators -CPU, memory, I/O, disk space and other resource contention
  • Effective software/firmware patch management
  • Ability to assist software developers in implementing product releases
  • Experience in web farms, clusters, and/or web gardens is desirable
  • Excellent communication, written and verbal, when dealing with both technical and non-technical staff
  • Linux and Apache (Tomcat) experience is a plus
  • Experience in automation using languages, such as Bash/SH, Python, PHP, or Ruby is a plus
  • Experience using config & provisioning tools like Chef, Ansible or Puppet is a plus.
  • Experience using CI/CD tools like TFS, Jenkins, TeamCity, BuildMaster is a plus
  • 24x7 on-call support availability
