Role Overview 

As a Senior Brand Manager for Total War, you will be a strategic leader within the CA Brand team, driving the development and execution of brand campaigns that build trust, loyalty, and emotional connection with our players. You will be embedded within the studio, working closely with development teams to shape the identity and tone of our titles, while collaborating with SEGA Publishing to ensure globally resonant marketing plans. 
 
This role sits at the intersection of creativity and commercial strategy—powering campaigns with compelling assets, partnerships, and community activations. You will be instrumental in ensuring that our brand work is player-first, data-informed, and aligned with the franchise’s ambition to be the definitive strategy game experience. 
 
You will work alongside the Associate Brand Director, Studio Leadership, SEGA stakeholders, and cross-functional teams with the aim to deliver world class campaigns that push the Total War brand forward. 

This role is Hybrid and has an expectation of visiting a couple of days per week our Horsham studio. Further details can be discussed during the recruitment process 


Key Responsibilities 

Strategic Leadership 

  • Define and own brand strategy for assigned Total War titles, ensuring alignment and balance with franchise goals and player expectations. 
  • Lead initial product positioning and brand identity development in collaboration with creative and development teams. 
  • Shape and evolve brand activations, IP holder relations, and transmedia opportunities. 
  • Collaborate with SEGA Publishing to support global marketing planning and execution 
  • Represent the Total War brand in strategic planning forums and cross-discipline discussions.

Campaign Execution 

  • Lead the creation and delivery of brand campaigns across the lifecycle of Total War titles. 
  • Brief and manage creative teams to produce high-quality assets. Including trailers,  static materials, video, and wider copy needs,  ensuing that materials reflect the brand’s tone and values. 
  • Partner with SEGA to ensure seamless execution of Total War marketing efforts. 
  • Ensure brand consistency across all touchpoints, including community, web, and CRM. 

Collaboration & Influence 

  • Act as the brand ambassador within CA and SEGA, fostering collaborative relationships across publishing, development, and community teams. 
  • Be the champion for ongoing improvements to process and structure between CA Brand and SEGA Marketing. 
  • Drive cross-functional alignment and shared goals across product, creative, and communications disciplines. 

Reporting, Research & Optimisation 

  • Monitor campaign performance and player sentiment, using insights to refine future strategy. 
  • Track KPIs and contribute to broader brand health metrics. 
  • Support the development of brand reporting frameworks in partnership with analytics and live ops teams. 
  • Support product research efforts to ensure future TW titles are tested, understood and meet player quality and feature expectations.  

 

Experience & Skills 

Essential 

  • Proven experience in brand management within games or entertainment. 
  • Strong strategic thinking and creative execution across multiple projects. 
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. 
  • Deep understanding of brand identity, player engagement, and campaign development. 
  • Experience working in complex, cross-functional environments. 

 

Desirable 

  • Familiarity with Total War or strategy gaming audiences. 
  • Experience collaborating with creative agencies. 
  • Understanding of global marketing planning and regional market needs. 
  • Knowledge of CRM, web strategy, and community engagement tools.
