Assistant Regional Manager
Description
Coastal Pacific Food Distributors is currently seeking an Assistant Regional Manager to service the South Korea Region. The Manager is responsible for leading the associates and activities involved in operating the deli/bakery & sushi departments at USG commissaries in South Korea. This position leads a team of approximately 60 associates to maximize sales and profitability by implementing category strategies developed by the corporation and implementing them at store level to maximize results in each respective unique environment. This position is also responsible for developing and implementing plans to achieve continuous improvement at all locations. The position requires action be taken regarding merchandising, promotions, staffing decisions and problem resolution which may or may not be covered by specific operating procedures, and therefore individual judgment is very important. This position reports to Korea Operations Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the company vision and mission statements and implement the strategies necessary to achieve them
- Travel to store locations and lead department management in the planning, implementation and execution of merchandising and operations initiatives
- Work and communicate closely with Category Managers to ensure category management initiatives are properly executed at all locations
- Oversee that all stores are providing customer service that meets or exceeds the company standards and customer expectations
- Maintain high standards of store image ensuring that all stores are clean, well-stocked and ready for business
- Oversee that all assigned stores operate within the established inventory levels, salary budgets (and other control lines), and gross profit margins to achieve maximum profitability
- Accountable for increasing store sales and gross profits through implementation of corporate merchandising policies, procedures and programs
- Maintain knowledge of trends on military bases and relay relevant information to headquarters concerning competitive wages, products and food trends on base
- Develop and implement best practices to maximize labor efficiencies across operations
- Maintain working relationships with associates to support the open-door policy
- Serve as a proactive leader of the operations team, evaluating and implementing new concepts in the stores
- Partner with Human Resources to recruit, hire, train, develop and evaluate store management and store associates
- Assure that personnel processes (hiring, training, associate evaluations, employee discipline and termination actions) are handled in a timely manner, and in accordance to company policy
- Coach department managers in the performance of their duties and provide feedback and development opportunities
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 5+ years’ experience as a food service manager in the industry and/or has successfully managed employees, inventory levels, budgets and gross profit margins
- Strong focus on sales and understands how merchandising drives sales
- Excellent written communication and documentation skills
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills for maintaining effective business relationships with peers, senior management, customers and vendors
- Must have knowledge with MS Office including Outlook, Word and Excel
- Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates
- Must be familiar with Health Department guidelines and regulations as they pertain to a grocery retail environment
- Strong leadership and analytical skills
- Highly organized and proficient at multi-tasking
- Excellent interpersonal skills
