Job Overview
The Technical Manager of Revenue Operations will manage and optimize the technical aspects of revenue operations across sales, marketing, and customer success teams. The role will focus on the technical stack, data architecture, system integrations, and analytics needed to align these departments, improve operational efficiency, and maximize revenue growth. This position requires a strong technical background, proficiency with revenue technologies (e.g., CRM, marketing automation), and a deep understanding of how to leverage technology to support business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Stack Management & Optimization:
- Oversee and manage the integration of all revenue-related systems (CRM, marketing automation, customer success platforms, billing systems, etc.).
- Ensure seamless data flow between systems, identifying and resolving issues related to data quality, synchronization, and system performance.
- Evaluate, implement, and optimize tools that enable the sales, marketing, and customer success teams to operate more efficiently and effectively.
- Act as the primary technical point of contact for cross-functional teams, ensuring that systems are set up to support revenue generation strategies.
Data Architecture & Management:
- Design and manage data structures, ensuring that all revenue-related data (e.g., sales pipeline, customer interactions, campaign data) is consistent, accurate, and accessible across departments.
- Develop and maintain centralized data sources and reporting tools to provide teams with actionable insights into sales performance, customer engagement, and marketing effectiveness.
- Define and enforce data governance policies to ensure data integrity and security.
System Integration & Automation:
- Lead the integration of new tools and technologies into the company’s existing revenue tech stack.
- Automate and optimize manual workflows across departments to improve productivity, reduce human error, and enhance the overall revenue process.
- Collaborate with IT and engineering teams to ensure systems are properly configured, integrated, and aligned with business needs.
Analytics and Reporting:
- Build and manage reporting dashboards that provide actionable insights into key performance indicators (KPIs) across sales, marketing, and customer success.
- Develop custom reports and data visualizations to help leadership track revenue growth, pipeline health, customer retention, and other critical metrics.
- Work with business intelligence tools to drive deeper analysis of customer data, sales trends, and marketing effectiveness.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Partner with cross-functional teams (sales, marketing, customer success, finance) to ensure alignment on revenue goals, metrics, and strategies.
- Provide technical expertise to the CRO and leadership team in making data-driven decisions and optimizing revenue strategies.
- Facilitate regular meetings and communication between teams to ensure that the systems are aligned and that any technical challenges are addressed.
Forecasting & Pipeline Management:
- Help streamline the sales forecasting process, ensuring accurate tracking and management of the sales pipeline.
- Optimize the CRM and other systems to ensure accurate forecasting, lead scoring, and pipeline tracking.
- Collaborate with sales operations to ensure accurate data entry and the implementation of best practices for managing sales pipelines.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in Revenue Operations, Sales Operations, or a similar technical role in a SaaS, IT services, or MSP environment.
- Strong technical experience with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce), marketing automation platforms (e.g., HubSpot, Marketo), and customer success systems (e.g., Gainsight, Zendesk).
- Proficiency in data management, system integration, and automation (e.g., Zapier, MuleSoft).
- Experience with analytics platforms and business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Solid understanding of revenue operations and the key processes that drive sales, marketing, and customer success teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work with cross-functional teams to address technical challenges.
- Experience with API integrations and data mapping between systems is highly desirable.
- Experience in the Managed Services or IT services industry is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with scripting or programming languages (e.g., SQL, Python, JavaScript) to enhance system automation and integrations.
- Knowledge of data privacy and security best practices.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and associated technologies
Salary Range for this position (depending upon experience): 95k-110k
This range reflects the minimum and maximum targets for new hires across all US locations (with the exception of MA, NY, and CA). Within the range, individual pay is determined by job-related skills, experience, work location, and relevant education or training.
