Summary

The Service Technician will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of manual and automatic doors with or without direct onsite supervision.

Essential Functions

  • Install and service manual and automatic doors
  • Maintain company-owned equipment
  • Work in a team environment with other service team members
  • Observe all safety rules and best practices
  • Participate in on call rotation schedule for emergency service calls – involves 1 week per month with on call pay
  • Other relative duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma
  • Low voltage electrical experience
  • Current and valid US driver’s license preferred
  • At least 1 year of experience in similar position
  • Must pass pre-employment background check and drug test
  • Due to job site and Federal contractual requirements, COVID-19 vaccination strongly preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Willingness to learn and work well within a team environment
  • Ability to read and use a measuring tape, level and other required tools for installation
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Able to work a flexible schedule when required to meet customer needs (nights, weekends, overnight)
  • Comfortable with heights such as working a ladder and/or aerial man-lift
  • Solid organization, attention to detail and multi-tasking skills

Physical Demands 

Spends more than 2/3 of time standing, kneeling/crouching/stooping, using hands and reaching. Spends approximately 1/3 of time walking and talking/hearing. Frequent lifting required of items 25-50 pounds, and occasional lifting over 50 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

Work Environment  

Conditions will include proximity to forklifts or other heavy machinery and using various tools and hardware. Subject to frequent heavy lifting. May require driving to project sites. May be exposed to variable weather conditions, including hot and cold temperatures.
