Warehouse Associates assists with directing warehouse and delivery operations to help ensure that the warehouse runs smoothly and efficiently. This includes timely and accurate material receipts, product shipments, and material deliveries. Must also actively work to improve inventory accuracy through rigorous inventory control processes and regular cycle counts. Assist customers with orders as well as product questions. Generate customer orders from pricing through the invoice process with the goal to increase efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction.

Essential Functions

  • Monitor material flow through warehouse, including receiving, shipping and storage, assuring accuracy and efficiency at all points
  • Coordinate deliveries with shipping department
  • Monitor equipment maintenance, including vehicles, ensuring preventative maintenance is always current and equipment is in good working order
  • Responsible for shipping & receiving paperwork and computer processes.
  • Communicate with management as well as suppliers, via email or phone conversations, in a clear and professional manner
  • Participate in physical inventories
  • Must maintain a high level of accuracy, efficiency and safety while ensuring quality standards by way of in-process inspections
  • Coordinate sales of assigned accounts monitoring product and delivery needs
  • Represent the company knowledgeably and professionally
  • Provide solutions to customers relating to material procurement, distribution and application
  • Prepare and input orders as needed and researches and orders special products as necessary
  • Prepare and complete orders for delivery or pickup according to schedule (load, pack, wrap, label, ship)
  • Pull inventory for shipments
  • Non-CDL delivery driver duties 
  • Help with ensuring correct material is pulled and loaded on our truck for delivery
  • Recording selected merchandise in accordance with standard operating procedures
  • Ensuring correct and complete labels are attached to all orders processed
  • Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization
  • Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers
  • Operate and preventively maintain warehouse equipment
  • Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Working in accordance with all warehouse safety regulations
  • Load finished product onto truck
  • Navigate equipment through a warehouse to collect customer orders
  • Follow all applicable safety regulations and processes as associated with driving, vehicle check, material handling and customer site specifics
  • Interact with customers and the public in a professional and positive manner
  • Use technology to help manage the logistics process
  • Other relative duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, or an equivalent combination of education/experience
  • Current and valid US driver’s license and 21+ years old to drive for the company
  • Experience driving trucks for delivery and valid DOT medical card if will be driving vehicle over 10,000 lbs. (preferred but not required)
  • 3 to 5 years of experience within the commercial door & hardware industry strongly preferred
  • Forklift certification preferred
  • Must pass pre-employment background check and drug test

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Basic computer skills and Comsense software experience
  • Working knowledge of warehouse environments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills+
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English in order to communicate effectively with suppliers and customers as it relates to efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction
  • Ability to efficiently  work independently and meet deadlines
  • Attention to detail and the ability to accurately do arithmetic, read orders, write instructions, and complete forms
  • Effective time management, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work closely and cordially with other staff associates

Physical Demands

Must be able to stand and walk for much of the day.  Ability to lift 5-25 pounds frequently and ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Work Environment

Other conditions may include proximity to forklifts or other heavy machinery and using various tools and hardware. Worker is subject to frequent heavy lifting.
