Description

Summary

Design, develop, update, and deliver materials and training for new hires, refresher training, informational, and/or career development purposes to meet all company training objectives.  Designs training programs to improve performance and efficiency. 

Essential Functions

  • Ensure all scheduled training (new hire, core competency, cross-departmental) is successfully designed, developed, completed, tracked in database, and evaluated for effectiveness.  Conduct new hire, recurring and performance development training.  Design, develop and continuously update training materials.  Coordinate and schedule training, including training that utilizes Subject Matter Experts (SME’s).  Set up the training room and coordinate the use of equipment and training materials. 
  • Determine training and development needs of all levels of employees by working with respective management, conducting needs assessments, and evaluating performance appraisals.  Research and recommend the best eLearning tools to fit organizational objectives.  Assess training needs through surveys, interviews with employees, focus groups, or consultation with managers and executive team.  Apply latest teaching techniques finding ways to make the training programs entertaining.   
  • Centralize all policy and procedures into one company manual.  Maintain and update company policy and procedural manual and communicate changes to company employees.  Write policy and procedure memos for dissemination to company employees. 

Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) 

  • Conduct training on a minimum of two (2) subjects monthly
  • Provide monthly reporting on completed training and test results
  • Publish a monthly schedule of upcoming training classes to all company employees
  • Update the policy and procedure manual within ten (10) business days of policy changes and distribute to company employees
  • Track and report on effectiveness of training curriculum
  • Other relative duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree, or an equivalent combination of education/experience
  • Current and valid US driver’s license preferred
  • At least 5 years of experience in similar position

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as training materials, safety rules, purchase orders, vendor acknowledgements, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively with employees of the organization.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Work Environment  

This job operates primarily in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. May occasionally require driving to project sites.
