Summary

The Aftermarket Sales Representative is responsible for generating sales for the company’s products and services via qualified in-house leads, building and maintaining a sales pipeline within their defined territory, and building relationships with end users/prospects on an ongoing basis. Working from provided lead lists and research using tools such as internal CRM systems, LinkedIn and Dodge, the successful candidate will engage prospective customers through face-to-face meetings, outbound calling, email campaigns, trade shows and business networking events within their defined territory. The primary purpose of these sales calls is to create opportunities for the sale of all Cook & Boardman products and service offerings and customized E-commerce stores. This is including, but not limited to, calling on facility management executives, building maintenance personnel, IT managers, and security directors at Healthcare Facilities, Corporate Campuses, K-12 School Systems, Colleges & Universities, state and local government, manufacturing facilities, datacenters, and similar business types. 

Essential Functions

  • Obtain, maintain, and optimize customer relations through planned and regular sales visits and communications for given territory
  • Service and build upon existing accounts, including resolving customer complaints by investigating problems
  • Follow up on all customer leads from external and internal sources
  • Communicate regularly with key decision makers, such as: directors of maintenance and/or security, school superintendents and locksmiths
  • Maintain accurate and detailed activity notes, such as daily calls logs, results reports, weekly work plans, and monthly/annual territory analyses, to be reviewed periodically with manager
  • Obtain orders and establish new business by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential sales outlets and other trade factors
  • Conduct a high volume of daily phone calls to targeted prospects
  • Build and cultivate prospect relationships by initiating communications and conducting follow-up communications in order to move opportunities through the sales funnel
  • Work with leadership to develop and grow the sales pipeline to consistently meet quarterly revenue goals
  • Manage data for prospective customers, ensuring all communications are logged, information is accurate and documents are attached
  • Visits jobsites as needed to attend meetings, check progress of work, or to diagnose and resolve problems.
  • Identifies and solves problems, either customer related matters or Cook & Boardman internal issues that may involve their work.
  • Participates in regular sales meetings to assess market opportunities, report on potentials and determine assignments
  • Other relative duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, or an equivalent combination of education/experience
  • Current and valid US driver’s license
  • At least 5 years in sales related and commission driven environment

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent sales, phone and customer relations skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient computer skills including: Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong mathematical skills
  • Ability to be persuasive and influential in verbal and written communication
  • Must have good attention to details and strong organizational skills

The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hand to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. 

Work Environment  

This job operates in both a professional office environment and through travel in visiting customer face to face. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, etc. This role does routinely require business travel. Maintaining a valid US drivers licence and personal transportation is required for this position.
