Indirect Lending Assistant Manager

 Consumers Credit Union is looking to hire a passionate Indirect Lending Assistant Manager to join our team. In this role, you will lead a sales and service driven team promoting Consumers culture, team engagement and growth of the indirect loan program. 

What you will be doing: 

  • Implement growth strategies for indirect lending which support the credit union's mission, vision, and goals.
  • Support the Indirect Manager as needed. 
  • Manage the indirect lending and funding process including program structure, service, quality, efficiency, and accuracy.
  • Coach indirect buyers and support the development of a sales driven underwriting team.
  • Optimize efforts in credit quality, documentation, loan origination processes, dealer management, system optimization, product management, and sales of indirect loans.
  • Work collaboratively with all Credit Union departments including but not limited to Loan Servicing, Operations, Retail Sales, IT, Compliance, Collections, HR, Training and Marketing on strategic initiatives.
  • Assist in education and promotion of Direct to Indirect Program to retail.
  • Drive data driven analysis to support decision quality, yield, growth, efficiency, and dealer performance.
  • Assist in managing dealer incentive expense.
  • Participate in dealer events and outside sales.
  • Handle member contact including loan interviewing, approvals/denials within authority limits; assist in resolving member complaints.
  • Review loan decisions and provide training support to other employees as needed.
  • Stay current on economic conditions and industry trends affecting consumer lending.
  • Develop and monitor action plans supporting the credit union's strategic goals.
  • Support Indirect Program Manager with achievement of growth, income, delinquency and charge off goals.
  • Monitor competitor offerings and assist in product and rate development.
  • Prepare lending reports and develop departmental procedures.
  • Conduct loan file audits to ensure quality and policy compliance.

What you will bring to the table:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred with 3+ years lending experience required
  • Dealership experience preferred – indirect, dealership finance and/or dealership management
  • Leadership experience preferred
  • Understanding and experience with credit risk and loan underwriting
  • Strong communication, organizational and customer service skills
  • Demonstrated ability to support strategic initiatives
  • Working knowledge of federal and state lending laws
  • Outside sales experience preferred
  • Collections experience helpful
  • Knowledge of credit union products and services
  • Familiarity with loan regulations and Credit Union policies.
