Consumers Credit Union is looking to hire a passionate Indirect Buyer to join our team. As an Indirect Buyer, you will support interest income and portfolio growth by delivering fair, consistent, and timely credit decisions in a high volume, dealer driven environment. You will provide strong service to dealer partners, members, and internal teams while ensuring loan quality and adherence to policy and develop foundational skills in credit analysis, pricing, and relationship management while assisting in strengthening dealer relationships. This role requires flexibility to support extended dealer hours, including evenings, Saturdays, and holidays, to maintain service coverage and responsiveness.
What you will do:
- Review and decision Indirect Auto applications within assigned lending authority, ensuring accurate evaluation of creditworthiness, collateral quality, and compliance with policy.
- Engage in service coverage during extended dealer hours, including evenings, Saturdays, and holidays, to maintain workflow continuity and meet partner expectations.
- Support portfolio quality by escalating complex or higher‑risk applications to senior underwriters or leadership as needed.
- Communicate clearly with dealer partners, internal teams, and members to gather information, clarify details, and ensure a smooth lending experience.
- Assist with pricing discussions and deal structure recommendations according to established program parameters.
- Navigate a fast‑paced, dealer‑driven workflow with strong organizational skills to maintain timely responses.
- Participate in dealer visits, training, and business‑development activities with the Dealer Sales Manager or Relationship Representative as appropriate.
- Maintain current knowledge of underwriting guidelines, LOS functionality, regulatory requirements, and internal procedures.
What you will bring to the table:
- Bachelor’s degree or 1–3 years of experience in lending, underwriting support, loan operations, or a related field; Indirect Auto experience preferred.
- Foundational understanding of credit analysis and ability to assess key credit factors with guidance.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, dealer‑driven environment requiring timely decisioning and responsiveness.
- Proficiency with loan origination systems and standard business software; ability to learn new technology quickly.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to collaborate with dealer partners and internal teams.
- Solid organizational and multitasking abilities to manage competing priorities.
- Ability to exercise assigned lending authority responsibly and escalate appropriately.
- Working knowledge of Credit Union products, regulations, and internal policies, or ability to learn quickly.
