About the Role:
CNET Group, a division of Ziff Davis, is seeking a highly motivated Sr Analyst, Yield and Media Operations to join our Ad Operations and Yield Analytics team. This role is critical to ensuring that our advertising inventory is optimized, revenue opportunities are maximized, and stakeholders across the business—from editorial to engineering—are aligned on how media capacity drives results.
As a Sr Analyst, you will combine deep analytical expertise with strong business acumen to forecast, report, and communicate inventory availability and performance across multiple revenue streams. You’ll play a pivotal role in connecting the dots between operational efficiency and revenue growth, regularly advising senior leadership with proactive insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Forecasting & Capacity Planning: Evaluate capacity needs, consumption trends, and inventory availability to ensure accurate forecasts and business readiness.
- Cross-Business Understanding: Develop a strong understanding of how product, site engineering, and editorial strategies influence inventory supply and yield.
- Revenue Stream Insights: Analyze and articulate performance across multiple revenue sources including onsite advertising, offsite monetization, and 3rd-party partnerships.
- Reporting & Communication: Deliver clear, concise reporting to senior management on inventory availability, risks, and opportunities.
- Operational Excellence: Partner with Ad Operations, Sales, and Product teams to ensure inventory is leveraged effectively to meet business goals.
- Proactive Insights: Surface opportunities and risks through data analysis, delivering actionable recommendations to drive yield optimization.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in media operations, ad operations, yield analytics, or related field.
- Strong technical skills with SQL, BigQuery, Looker, and Tableau (or similar BI/analytics tools).
- Proven ability to develop, manage, and present forecasts to senior leadership.
- Strong business acumen and ability to understand the interplay between product, engineering, editorial, and monetization.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex analysis into actionable insights.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
