CNET Group is looking for an experienced licensing and media sales Account Executive, remote with preference for NYC base, to play a key role in developing and growing licensing partnerships

What you’ll do: As a CNET Group Licensing Account Executive you will maximize revenue by leading sales of existing accounts as well as forging new account partnership. Lead your clients with a consultative approach, guiding and influencing clients/brands to execute Brand Licensing, content and digital partnerships across the technology and lifestyle brands of Ziff Davis. The Account Executive will maximize long term, cross functional revenue in two critical ways:
  • Support & Grow the Core: Responsible for identifying opportunities within existing key accounts
  • Develop, Scale, & Transition New: Developing a new set of accounts that are strategically important to growing the business.
 
What will be your responsibilities?
  • Evaluate potential of Licensing/Media Partnerships and oversee Business Development
  • Retain named and growth accounts, while fostering New Business opportunities and relationship to drive revenue
  • Lead client meetings and communications effectively
  • Negotiate net new and existing licensing contracts
  • Maintain and develop subject matter expertise and knowledge of industry trends
  • Secure and oversee Licensing partnerships including usage, infringement, and scope
  • Provide fresh, new insights to ensure constant effectiveness and work efficiency
  • Identify and scope new verticals and revenue opportunities
  • Collaborate with internal Ziff Davis teams to find key growth areas
  • Licensing Partnerships
  • Cross functional bundled partnerships (digital, commerce, content, social)
  • Collaborate with editorial teams to identify and develop offerings
  • Function as a strategic partner to the client/brand, guiding the client through ideal scenarios to ensure client KPI success, growth, and drive revenue
  • Develop new strategic ways to monetize and engage with brand executives and agencies
  • Coordinate effective packaging and approaches to fulfill client needs and industry demand
  • Effectively manage and forecast business revenue including CRM/Salesforce pipeline
 
What does it take to do this job?
  • Proven track record of identifying growth opportunities and driving sales
  • Experience with Licensed consumer and business products
  • Time management and organizational skills to prioritize tasks to drive impactful results
  • Strong writing, presenting skills
  • Excel-based data analysis skills
  • Creativity in problem solving
  • Upbeat attitude – approaches challenges as opportunities
  • Desire for exposure to multiple disciplines
  • Understanding of technology vendor landscape
  • Knowledge/experience with Licensing marketing and Sales
  • Familiarity/acumen with business software (i.e. Salesforce, Tableau, Excel)
 
Education and Experience
  • 5+ years progressive experience in Product/Brand licensing and demonstrated success/knowledge
  • 3+ years of specialized/industry experience
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience)
  • Master’s degree preferred
