About the Role:

The Revenue team plays a key role in driving the company’s financial success by ensuring the financial accuracy of our reported revenue and partnering with cross functional teams to streamline the sales cycle and revenue recognition. On the operational side, the team records journal entries and performs analyses to validate that reported revenue is accurate. On the technical side, the team is heavily involved in the contract negotiation process, verifying that deals are structured to comply with accounting standards, optimize our revenue and increase deal processing efficiency.

What You Will Do:
  • Hone your analytical, interpersonal and presentation skills 
  • Learn from hands-on coaching and an outstanding variety of work including the chance to work and interact with leadership
  • Develop technical skills to use throughout your career including accounting under GAAP and ASC 606 (revenue recognition standards)
  • Familiarize yourself with a variety of different contract structures including term based licenses and usage based revenue models
  • Perform reviews of the company’s contractual agreements to assess for revenue impacts, GAAP compliance and forecast future revenue recognized 
  • Support the monthly and quarterly financial close process and work closely with our team on cross-functional initiatives and process improvements  

 

What You Will Bring:
  • Currently enrolled in 2nd or 3rd year of undergrad or 1st year masters of Accounting
  • Majoring in Finance, Business, Accounting, Economics or related major 
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Humble, empathetic, detail oriented, and analytical mindset
  • Strong critical thinking and problem resolution skills
  • Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills
  • Maintains a positive can-do attitude with high standards and an appetite to learn
  • Driven and excited about challenges of a fast-paced, team oriented & innovative software startup environment

At Confluent, we are committed to providing competitive pay and benefits that are in line with industry standards. This position has a fixed salary of $34 and includes a housing stipend.
