About the Role:

Confluent is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director to lead Sales Strategy and Execution in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. This critical role will focus on driving excellence in execution, operational planning, and providing first line support to APAC GTM Leadership. This role will be instrumental in developing, communicating, executing, and scaling our GTM efforts in APAC. The Director, APAC Sales Strategy and Execution, will be a key conduit to streamline communication and partnership between SVP, APAC and other internal organizations.

This individual will work closely with Sales Leadership, Sales Operations, and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and successful execution of our strategic objectives. This role will require a deep understanding of the APAC market, strong leadership skills, and a proven track record of driving sales growth. This individual will also play a key role in developing and implementing new sales motions as needed, adapting strategies for different regions and industries within APAC.

What You Will Do:

  • Drive Excellence in Execution: You will own the GTM rhythm of the business for APAC, implementing and managing robust operational processes to ensure efficient GTM execution across the APAC region. You will drive the management cadence of the business including weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting; APAC leadership meetings; forecast calls; pipeline councils; and other moments in the rhythm of the business. You will drive cross-functional collaboration with Marketing, GTM Excellence, People, Partner & Innovation Ecosystem, Finance, Deal Strategy & Monetization, Sales Development, Cloud Acquisition, and other key stakeholders to align priorities and resources to the APAC strategy. You will develop systems to address operational issues and escalations effectively, working with cross-functional teams to resolve bottlenecks and drive continuous improvement.You will drive improvements and updates to the reporting tools, methods, and processes utilized by the team to increase the availability and granularity of actionable data for our customers.  You will lead the development and provision of routine and ad-hoc analytic reports to senior management regarding business development initiatives, customer segment performance, performance against goals, etc. Ensure reports contribute to business insight and decision-making, and minimize overall report burden. Streamline bi-directional communication between SVP, APAC (i.e. executive they support) & their organization (global sales).
  • Operational Planning: You will develop and execute operational plans that align to the global GTM strategy and the APAC GTM strategy, in partnership with Global Sales Operations, Finance, and other key stakeholders. This includes headcount planning, territory management, account segmentation, quota setting, and resource allocation. Contribute to the development and refinement of sales plays and ensure their effective implementation within the APAC sales organization. Support the annual planning process, including forecasting, budgeting, and headcount planning. You will collaborate on the design, development, maintenance, and delivery/presentation of forecasting models, metrics, reports, analyses, and dashboards to drive key business decisions.  
  • First-Line Support for APAC Sales Leadership: You will be a trusted partner to the SVP, APAC. … You will lead special projects for APAC leadership and represent the SVP, APAC in key meetings or projects to advance global and APAC sales agenda.  You will lead the team providing direct support to APAC Go To Market leaders, offering guidance on strategy, execution, and operational matters. Collaborate with sales leadership to identify and address challenges, develop solutions, and drive growth. Help resolve management issues and ensure the team is operating at full capacity with the right talent.
  • Collaboration, Communication and Alignment: You will drive collaboration and establish clear communication channels with cross-functional teams including CSG, PIE, Marketing, Product, People and GTM Strategy & Operations to enable effective execution of the APAC GTM Strategy. You will develop networks with key stakeholders to build consensus, foster open dialogue, and promote cross-functional partnerships. You will use these networks to challenge the status quo and drive operational efficiencies in support of APAC strategy.
  • Market Analysis and Insights: Stay informed about market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape in the APAC region. Leverage these insights to inform sales strategies and identify new opportunities for growth.
  • Lead initiatives across the Global Sales Operations group and be an active participant on this team

What You Will Bring:

  • Proven Experience in GTM Operations: Prior experience in revenue operations, sales operations, customer success operations, or partner operations leading efforts to define, streamline, and operationalize sales processes and related governance processes;
  • Excellent Communication Skills: The ability to articulate complex concepts at all levels and to create clear and simple executive and enablement communications. Some days you’ll be diving deep into business requirements with our business system partners. Some days you’ll be concisely and communicating tradeoff decisions to executives
  • Strong Collaboration & Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to partner with diverse organizations to design and implement cross-functional processes, navigate complex stakeholder relationships, resolve conflicts effectively, and drive projects from planning through successful execution. Proven track record of building and maintaining strategic relationships at all levels, influencing, and fostering an inclusive team environment.
  • Strong expertise in facilitating cross-cultural collaboration, leading virtual teams, and developing consensus across multiple business functions to achieve shared objectives.
  • Analytic and Strategic Thinking: The capability to invent and simplify, seek clarity through the noise, and ability to clearly prioritize down to what moves the needle;
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Exhibits sound business judgment, a proven ability to influence others, strong analytical skills, and a proven track record of taking ownership, leading data-driven analyses, and influencing results
