About the Role:
We are seeking an attorney with broad corporate law experience and interests, including M&A and public company representation either at a law firm or in-house. In this role, you will have both a meaningful role in a growing legal department and an opportunity to develop professionally with the support of a collaborative and experienced team. We are looking for candidates who feel energized by a fast-paced and dynamic work environment, who have a growth mindset, and who are curious both about the big picture and the little details. This role reports directly to the Deputy General Counsel, Corporate.

What You Will Do:
- Support M&A activities, including transaction execution, integration, and M&A legal program development.
- Partner on domestic and international subsidiaries, international expansion and global corporate compliance matters.
- Support Finance business partners, including on treasury and tax teams.
- Support legal aspects of SEC filings.
- Support corporate governance matters, including preparing materials for Board and committee meetings, developing the proxy statement, and reviewing policies and charters.
- Develop and implement processes and playbooks to enable continued scale within the Corporate Legal function.
- Evolve with the needs of the Corporate Legal function as Confluent grows and matures.
What You Will Bring:
- Minimum 2-5 years’ experience as a corporate attorney, including training in M&A transactions and securities laws at a law firm, in-house and/or via coursework.
- Active membership in good standing in at least one state bar.
- Excellent legal and business judgment with the ability to assess and communicate risks to business partners in a clear and actionable way.
- Ability to work independently on projects with minimal supervision, and manage multiple projects/meet deadlines within budget and with consistently high-quality work product.
- High level of integrity, team orientation, and treating others with respect.
- Growth mindset, positive attitude, resilience, and ability to thrive in a high-growth, fast-paced environment.
- A desire to work with others who are also smart, humble and empathetic, and who enjoy working as one team to get things done!

We analyze and carefully consider several factors when determining compensation, including work history, education, professional experience, and location. This position has an annual estimated salary of $132,800- $175,500, an annual bonus, and a competitive equity package.
