ABOUT THE POSITION 

Bridgette Bar is looking for a host to fill out their team on a full-time permanent basis. Hosts are responsible for several functions including, but not limited to, greet all guests in a prompt and friendly manner, ring in takeout and execute curbside pickup orders, seat guests, and responsible for the overall flow of the restaurant. WHAT WE OFFER

WHAT YOU’LL DO 

    • Welcome and greet guests at the door in a prompt and friendly manner.
    • Answer text messages, receive and record reservations accurately in a pleasant and attentive manner. 
    • Answer questions about food, beverages and other restaurant functions and services over the phone and in person.
    • Maintain cleanliness of front desk area, restocking supplies and ensuring menus are organized.
    • Communicate with servers as to when next tables are going to be arriving.
    • Monitor and observe guests dining experience, ensuring guests are satisfied with the food and service. Respond promptly and courteously to any requests.
    • Assist with settling bills and processing any credit, debit or cash transactions as required.
    • Thank guests for their visit as they exit the restaurant and invite them to return.
    • Be ready and willing to provide support as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the manager in charge.
    • Assist in arranging transportation for guests if required.
    • Execute ad-hoc tasks are required.

WHAT YOU HAVE 

    • 1 years’ experience is preferred but not required.
    • Has worked with the Open Table program before, preferred not required.
    • Strong English communication skills with ability to establish and develop relationships with team members, partners, and customers.
    • Basic knowledge of dining room and service procedures and functions.
    • Basic math skills, can handle money, and operate a point-of-sale system.
    • Valid Ontario ProServe certification obtained within 30 days of starting.
    • Ability to maintain professionalism, control, and composure in difficult and stressful situations.
    • Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours).
    • Must be over 19 as alcohol service and open scheduling availability is a requirement.
