Role Summary

The Business Analyst tracks and develops project tasks, documents, and understands data processing rules and ensures that data processing rules are incorporated into data sets and reports. They manage projects of diverse scope and complexity and serve as the liaison between business, analytics, technology, and external clients.

 

Responsibilities

  • Generate high-level requirements for all new client onboarding and existing client change orders using a standard template in the BAT Jira workflow.
    • Responsible for obtaining high level assumptions from/defining scope with client to allow technical teams to provide high level estimates.
    • Responsible for working with compliance team to assess compliance needs for new implementations and change orders.
    • Responsible for tagging tickets appropriately with relevant components and labels to ensure ticket moves through estimation process.
    • Responsible for presenting ticket to technical teams and providing necessary clarifications to obtain high level estimate from all teams involved.
  • Generate detailed requirements for new client onboarding and existing client change orders using standard requirements templates.
    • Responsible for working with both client and technical teams to define detailed requirements that allow technical teams to perform development against.
    • Responsible for identifying areas where requirements are falling outside of the original scope of work and require a change order.
    • Responsible for tracking to and completing requirements within project plan timeline parameters
  • Generate UAT data test cases
    • Responsible for identifying edge cases that need to be tested
    • Responsible for formatting test cases using a standard template, OR using standard process tools for test case organization/tracking
  • Generate UAT test data scenarios required to capture edge cases
    • Responsible for identifying edge cases that will need data produced for testing
    • Responsible for formatting test data specifications using a standard template, OR using standard process tools for test data organization/tracking
  • Execute Internal Smoke Testing during UAT phase
    • Responsible for both high level and detailed “spot-checking” of both deliverables and intermediate processing steps
    • Responsible for entering bug tickets when Smoke Testing reveals bugs.
  • Participate in internal and client UAT meetings and support requirement related questions.
    • Responsible for working with account team to ensure all questions related to requirements are answered in a timely manner
    • Responsible for communicating any requirements-related items that may impact development or how the final product looks to the account team for communication to client.
  • Support client end to end testing by attending meetings and answering requirement related questions.
    • Responsible for working with account team to ensure all questions related to requirements are answered in a timely manner.

  • Provide status updates to PMs for use at client / vendor meetings.
    • Responsible for providing timeline/dates to PMs, as well as any delays in the project plan timeline for test cases, test data specifications, and requirements.
  • Participate in client / vendor meetings (internal and external) as required.
    • Responsible for working with account team to communicate requirements clarifications/questions.
    • Responsible for working with account team to gather final client approval for detailed requirements.
    • Responsible for reviewing testing feedback during new data vendor onboarding.
  • Provide estimates to complete detailed requirements, test case creation, test data specifications creation, and smoke testing.
  • Participate in process improvements and development for implementation and estimation.
    • Help to identify areas where efficiency in global processing could be introduced.
  • Ensure successful dissemination of information to development teams.
    • Responsible for communication of all requirements changes to technical teams when changes arise.
    • Responsible for clear organization of requirements using existing standard requirements templates and tools
  • Subject matter experts for product & platform features.
    • Responsible for triaging questions/obtaining answers from technical teams for areas outside of expertise.
  • Provide input for new product / platform features.

 

Requirements

  • Experience in managing projects utilizing standard project management disciplines and tools, and proficient knowledge of Excel
  • Strong interpersonal skills and self-motivation
  • Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and autonomy along with a project management style that promotes progress through teamwork in a collaborative environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • BA/BS in Technology, Business, or related field
  • Experience in the Pharma industry specifically data aggregation and dispense data
  • Strong experience using JIRA and SQL
  • Solid understanding of SDLC
  • Experience in documenting business, functional, and technical requirements
  • Solid understanding of data processing and front-end development best practices
  • Familiarity with AWS environments
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and HITECH policies
