Role Summary
The Clinical Patient Insights (CPI) Training Manager functions in the role of direct manager/leader and staff educator and resource for those within the CPI custom and data products curation teams. Working with other members of the CPI team, the CPI Training Manager assesses and guides the overall educational strategy for all CPI team members, including new hires, internal transfers, and existing staff. The CPI Training Manager will work closely with the VP Clinical Patient Insights, QC Manager, Data Quality Lead, CPM Managers, training team members, and CPI Subject Matter Experts to develop, oversee, and effectively integrate a comprehensive training plan for CPI personnel. The CPI Training Manager works under the general direction of the VP Clinical Patient Insights.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and oversees the comprehensive educational strategy for all segments of the CPI division, including Curation, QC, DPL, SME, and Lead role education.
  • Partners with CAI Quality Assurance and CPI Leadership to develop and maintain SOPs and Guidance Documents to drive compliance and educational rigor.
  • Manages all CPI training personnel and initiatives.
  • Oversees the development of educational materials and modules as well as objective assessment tools and rubrics to measure success of educational strategy.
  • Facilitates learning through a variety of delivery methods dictated by project needs and timelines; coordinates off site training as needed.
  • Approves all CPI training staff expense reports, time reports, and time off requests
  • Complete performance reviews for direct reports in a timely manner in accordance with corporate SOPs, directives, and initiatives
  • Presents training programs using recognized training techniques and tools.
  • Reviews documents as needed to develop familiarity with project goals and understand the tasks and training required for new hires, internal transfers, and existing team members.
  • Interacts with CPI custom and data products team members, as well as additional CPI training, QC, project management, and staff management personnel regarding ongoing and planned projects and obtains guidance on ideal training approaches.
  • Tracks and reports on training outcomes.
  • Provides feedback to CPI project and staff managers, and VP Clinical Patient Insights on any issues related to training as needed.
  • Evaluates and makes recommendations on changing and updating training material and methodology.
  • Handles logistics for training activities pertinent to project.
  • Maintains a professional approach respecting the dignity and confidentiality of employees, managers, and vendors.
  • Attends staff meetings as scheduled.
  • Performs all other duties, as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and 1-2 years related experience; OR four years related experience and/or training; OR equivalent combination of training and clinical experience.
  • Master’s degree in Education preferred
  • One to three years of clinical or research experience in the field of Oncology is required; clinical oncology experience preferred.
  • At least one year in a CRN or data abstractor position required
  • Team management/leadership experience required
  • At least one year of preceptor/training/teaching experience required; preceptor/training/teaching of data abstractors beneficial.
  • Computer experience required, including experience with Microsoft Office applications. Experience with training management service(s) or other training tools and applications preferred.
  • Engagement in formal/informal ongoing training, obtaining, and maintaining certifications, licensure, and membership in professional societies is desirable.
