Concept Plus is seeking a Senior Systems Software Engineer (Server) to provide technical support to a federal clients' systems.
Job Description:
The Senior Systems Software Engineer (Server) will provide technical leadership in software design and sustainment of all system functionalities and provide technical guidance to the software development staff. Technical support is systems development and sustainment. The program uses hybrid Agile Software Development for software modifications or to correct production issues and for new development/enhancements. The primary focus is daily sustainment for a Web/Oracle system architecture in AWS.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead server administration of production, development, and test servers in conjunction with the hosting facility (i.e. AWS, Azure)
- Provide leadership for maintenance/sustainment, development and documentation of application code, including integration of and utilization of Commercial-Off-the-Shelf (COTS) and other open-source tools into the existing system, as required to keep the system current with the changing AF environment and industry standards
- Monitor and sustain applications in AWS Cloud environment to ensure functionality, proper operation, and timely resolution of any issues discovered, meeting Government’s satisfaction
- Support system requirements, handle technology refresh needs, maintaining compliance with governing statutes and DoD financial management policies, standards, and regulations.
- Producing and/or updating technical documentation for all maintenance/sustainment activities. Includes but not limited to documentation pertaining to architecture, application, database, Continuity of Operations (COOP), Separation of Duties (SoD), Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and Memorandum of Agreements (MOAs)
- Manage development and/or maintenance of Web Services Application Programming Interface (API) for existing and future interface partners
- Manage application home page to communicate updates, scheduled releases, maintenance, and other pertinent information for end users
- Providing support for interfacing protocols like Secure File Transfer Protocol or other secure file transfer mechanism utilizing native Cloud (AWS) methodologies required by the AF to ensure data integrity and assurance over the AF Non-secure Internet Protocol Router Network (NIPRNET)
Minimum Required Qualifications (Must Have):
- 10 years of Infrastructure Software Development experience
- Possess recent development experience with Java, .NET, and JavaScript, leveraging frameworks like Spring Boot and Hibernate.
- Security+ CE or CCNA Security certification required
- Active Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance
- Proficient in database technologies such as Oracle and SQL Server.
- Experienced with cloud platforms (AWS) and automation tools (Jenkins).
- Strong understanding of mainframe technologies (z/OS, ISPF, JCL, Message Format Services - MFS)
- Thorough understanding of the proposed programming environments such as IBM Information Management System and related tools and technologies
- Knowledge of XMLS, AWS and Azure related technologies and utilities
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have):
- BA/BS preferrable, can be replaced by additional experienceÂ
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills.
- AWS/Azure Certifications or willingness to pursue (not required)
- AGILE Environment experience, DevSecOps
- Possess USAF functional experience.
