Conair Corporation, a worldwide manufacturer of haircare, health and beauty products, personal care and spa appliances, and upscale kitchen products, and located in Stamford, CT, is looking for a Product Manager to work in our lighted mirrors marketing department.  This marketing role will report directly to the Director of Marketing and play an essential part of creating a product from inception to manufacturing and maintaining the product through its life cycle.

Responsibilities of the position include creating ideas for new products as well as facilitating the creation of new product ideas from the product marketing, sales and engineering resources.  Other responsibilities include supervising and coordinating all efforts from the product marketing, engineering, R&D and creative resources toward the commercialization of these ideas into new products, P&L responsibility, production planning and forecasting, customer presentations, packaging development, retailer initiatives and communication with overseas factories and staff.

The ideal candidate must possess an understanding of costing/pricing, and its impact on profitability and an understanding and appreciation for all functional roles within the company, including engineering and manufacturing.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage New Product Concepts, Initiation and Planning
  • Manage with new product design, development, packaging initiation and launch strategies
  • Work with our Product Research group to determine the validity of new products
  • Handle time sensitive responsibilities and communications from Asia in a timely and professional manner
  • Set-up new product information into SAP
  • Initiate, manage and track creative process to develop packaging and instructional materials
  • Initiate and track new product engineering testing
  • Monitor existing product sales
  • Liaison between Engineering, Planning, Manufacturing and Operations
  • Track competitive websites for new item launches
  • Manage preparation for sales/customer meetings to present new products, current program changes, promotional programs (presentations, competitive info and procure samples, images, packaging comps, all other requests)
