Conair, a global leader in the manufacture and distribution of personal care, health & beauty products, premium kitchen electrics, tools, and cookware, is seeking a Human Resources / Talent Acquisition Director based in our Stamford, CT location. The Human Resources and Talent Acquisition (HR/TA) Director provides comprehensive HR expertise (both strategic and tactical) and consulting for our corporate headquarters location and leads the Talent Acquisition strategy for North America. We are seeking a leader with a strategic, proactive, and progressive mindset; one who is results-oriented, metrics focused, and constantly looking for areas of process-improvement.  You will deliver the full suite of human resources services, become the essential go-to person for HR matters, and serve as point person for employee inquiries and concerns, partnering with the Sales and Marketing leadership teams and managing employee relations to contribute to overall employee engagement. Your influence won't be confined to one small box; you will be an integrated TA Leader, helping guide, grow and enhance the entire function including Recruitment, Recruitment Operations, and Employment Branding. 

  • HR Leader & Coach: Lead and support leadership team in driving strategic HR objectives in the areas of performance management, compensation planning, role definition, organization structure, training and development. Assists with the performance improvement process, providing guidance on the process itself and acting as resource to management in the writing of performance improvement documents
  • Trusted Advisor: Function as a trusted advisor to site leadership team, by building relationships and providing thoughtful counsel to support organization strategy and initiatives. Partner effectively across the business to understand and anticipate needs, advise on solutions and prioritize and execute projects.
  • HR Strategy: Participate in the development and implementation of HR strategies that result in improving business productivity, efficiencies, and retention. Consult with the business and HR team to deliver on various ad-hoc projects as needed.
  • Employee Engagement: Includes employee communications relevant to local facility designed to provide employees with timely and accurate information and to foster open communications to and from employees.
  • Employee Relations: Provide expertise on HR policies, processes, procedures, and programs (i.e. tuition reimbursement, service awards), as well as contribute to the creation or improvement of policies and programs. Provide extensive employee relations support and serves as intermediary/counsel between management and employees. Conducts thorough and objective investigations. Liaise with and provides analysis to the Legal department and leadership when involuntary separation is needed.
  • HR Administration: Establish and maintain departmental and employee records and reports, analyzing information and identifying trends. Maintain accurate employee information in HR database. Provide responses for Unemployment. Prepare paperwork for leaves, workers comp, etc.
  • Talent Acquisition Tools & Resources: Drive design and implementation of new tools and resources to support recruiting effectiveness and efficiency. Drive external employer reputation by positioning Conair as an Employer of Choice in North America through guiding local HR leadership, creating new ideas for promotion, focusing on attracting diverse talents and leveraging usage of Social Media further in region (e.g. glassdoor, indeed, fairygodboss, etc.). Conceptualize, enhance, and steer NA approach to early talent attraction and pipelining of candidates (academic relations) with strong focus on diversity and digitalization.
  • Change Management – Lead change (large and small) through robust change management, ensuring the awareness, desire, knowledge, ability, and reinforcement to sustain change.
Additionally, this position manages up to two direct HR reports. 

The successful candidate will have thorough knowledge of Human Resources practices and procedures with special emphasis on full-cycle recruiting including sourcing / recruiting / onboarding. This role will bring proven best practices around recruitment, recruiting operations/reporting/analytics, and sourcing and will have extensive experience leading a multi-channel approach to recruitment (RPO, contingent workers, recruitment advertising and events). As the talent acquisition specialist is usually the public face of the company during the recruiting process, must work to ensure positive candidate experiences from the initial application to the final onboarding process. Also, must maintain awareness of competitor practices, industry trends, and recruitment standards.

Our ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree along with 10+ years’ experience in a Corporate HR function or supporting Sales/Marketing Leaders, with at least 3-4 years’ experience leading enterprise-wide Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, or Organizational Effectiveness efforts. We prefer a related HR certification (SHRM or HCI).

  • Advanced skills in in MS Office, Excel, and PowerPoint, with the ability to analyze data, manipulate spreadsheets, and create presentations. 
  • Prior ATS, Onboarding System experience required; preferred experience with Jobvite
  • Knowledge of HR systems (preferred with ADP Vantage), data, and KPIs.
