Transportation Clerk

Job ID 2023-01605

Operations/Warehouse Glendale, Arizona

Description

Position at Conair LLC

Supply Chain & Distribution Operations

Position Overview

The Transportation Analyst is a critical link between warehouse operations and our carrier network.
This role focuses on optimizing outbound logistics through precise routing, system management,
and carrier performance analysis. The ideal candidate balances technical proficiency in
Transportation Management Systems (TMS) with a hands-on approach to warehouse operations,
ensuring all shipments are routed efficiently, safely, and cost-effectively.

Core Responsibilities

Carrier System Management: Manage daily routing within carrier portals and internal systems.
Ensure all outbound orders are assigned to the correct carrier based on routing guides and
service level requirements.
Routing Optimization: Analyze shipment data to identify consolidation opportunities and mode shifts (LTL to TL, Parcel to LTL) to drive cost savings and efficiency.
Load Planning: Coordinate with the outbound shipping team to plan trailer loads, ensuring
maximum cube utilization and adherence to weight restrictions.
Performance Metrics: Track and report on carrier on-time performance, tender acceptance
rates, and transportation spend variances.
Troubleshooting: Serve as the primary point of contact for carrier issues, including missed
pickups, equipment shortages, or system integration errors.

Operational Support & Floor Integration

In alignment with our "One Team" strategy, this role is not strictly office-based. When warehouse volume surges or operational needs arise, the Transportation Analyst will be expected to support floor operations, including:
Monitoring the staging areas to ensure routed loads are physically prepared for carrier arrival.
Assisting with manual order picking, packing, or palletizing during high-volume windows.
Verifying trailer seals and performing physical inspections of outbound equipment.
Directly assisting the outbound shipping team with dock management and trailer loading
coordination.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field (preferred).
2+ years of experience in transportation analysis or logistics coordination.
Proficiency in TMS, WMS, and advanced Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs).
Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable operational
improvements.
Willingness to work a flexible schedule to support warehouse peaks.

Physical Requirements: Ability to stand/walk for extended periods on the warehouse floor
and lift to 40 lbs. when supporting operational tasks.

Safety Commitment: We maintain a "Safety-First" culture. The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is expected to lead by example, adhering to all OSHA standards and identifying potential
hazards to maintain a zero-incident workplace.
