Inventory Control Clerk


Objective of the Position

The Inventory Control Clerk is responsible for inventory maintenance controls, policies, standard procedures and systems to achieve accurate financial inventory information.

Education/Status Requirements

High school diploma or GED

  • Effectively communicate information and respond to questions from various levels within the organization
  • Keen attention to detail including speed and accuracy in counting and checking
  • Arithmetic skills, including adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Good judgment and decision making skills
  • Able to follow directions accurately with little supervision
Work Experience Requirements

Powered Industrial Truck certification for Order Picker, previous inventory control in a warehouse setting, RF scanner, and WMI System experience.

Essential Functions & Duties
  • Monitor and perform daily cycle count activities
  • Monitor transactional activity, perform research and reconciliation to correct imbalances and prevent order denials
  • Maintain records and report daily cycle count activity
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and optimize cost effectiveness
  • Work with management team to conduct audits and ensure accuracy of inventory records and cycle count activities
  • Perform root cause analysis on inventory discrepancies
  • Investigate all inventory discrepancies in a timely manner
Physical Requirements

To successfully perform the essential functions of this job, the associate  must have the ability to perform physical activities such as standing for prolonged periods of time, bending for prolonged periods of time, climbing, balancing, walking, stooping, and lifting up to 50 pounds repetitively, and have good eye/hand coordination and motor skills. This position requires the ability to operate powered industrial equipment and work at heights.

Working Conditions

This position operates in the warehouse. Regular workdays for this position are Monday through Friday. Occasionally, responsibilities may require additional daytime/evening/weekend hours in order to meet deadlines.
