Position Summary:

Conair is seeking a risk and insurance professional with 5 to 8 years of experience to join its Risk Management team as Assistant Risk Manager.  Under the direction of the Director of Risk Management, you will assist in performing a variety of duties relating to managing the Company’s risk exposures which will include:

  • The procurement of global insurance programs
  • Scheduling risk and engineering inspections
  • Reporting, investigating, and managing claims
  • Supporting internal stakeholders with their risk and insurance needs
  • Reviewing vendor contracts and securing COIs to comply with customer insurance requirements
  • Scheduling and tracking AED and First Aid Training sessions
  • Perform and assist with other risk management projects as needed

In this role you will compile comprehensive renewal submissions and work with our brokers to assure they understand our risk profile and commitment to loss control initiatives.  When managing claims, you will work with internal and external resources to investigate the matter and report such findings to internal legal personnel as appropriate.  You will monitor regulatory and statutory requirements relating to the global insurance programs and assure the accurate and timely reporting of claims. 

 

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management or related field.
  • Functional knowledge of insurance coverage and claim handling process
  • Ability to manage sensitive complaints and engage legal assistance
  • Being inquisitive, investigative, problem solving and a critical thinker
  • Excellent communication skills - written, verbal and listening
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and documentation
  • Ability to multi-task various initiatives and projects and meet deadlines
  • Proficient in Excel, Power Point, and claim’s management systems
  • Self-motivated and self-directed with strong organizational skills

Beneficial Qualifications:

  • Maintains or willing to work towards an Associate in Risk Management designation (ARM).

Environmental Factors:

  • Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to use a computer keyboard and view a monitor for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to travel domestically for business up to 15% of time.
  • Must have valid Driver’s license for travel to inspections.
