Conair LLC is looking for an outstanding Proofreader with at least 5 years of solid experience in a corporate or agency setting. We are a multibillion-dollar, worldwide manufacturer of preeminent hairstyling and beauty products, personal care items and accessories, and upscale kitchen appliances, cookware  and tools. Headquartered in Stamford, CT, our product portfolio spans both retail and commercial customers.

Please note: While our workforce has been operating on remote and hybrid schedules, only candidates within a commutable distance to our Stamford offices will be considered.

What You’ll Do

This is a key role within the Copy Team, a growing shared services provider of best-in-class copy and content writing, proofreading, and translation solutions for the full portfolio of brands under the Conair LLC umbrella. Our iconic brands include Conair, ConairMan, Cuisinart, Waring Commercial, scünci, Allegro, Leandro Limited, Interplak, and BaBylissPRO.

The chosen candidate will provide day-to-day support for our in-house proofreader in the following capacities.

  • General duties: Responsible for proofreading, copyediting, and editing marketing materials, including product packaging, instruction manuals, recipes, website copy, articles, ads, copy in videos, and special projects. Corrects typographical and grammatical errors and errors in composition while adhering to brand style, ensuring consistency, and pointing out gaps in logic.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

We are looking for an upbeat and congenial team player who can hit the ground running with stellar proofreading and time management skills in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.

 Qualifications and Skills 

  • Excellent proofreading, copyediting, and editing skills with a good grasp of marketing concepts and practices.
  • Familiar with proofreading symbols.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and on tight deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented, accurate, highly organized, and proactive.
  • Able to work independently as well as with copywriters, account and marketing executives, and designers.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Spanish language proficiency and ability to assist our in-house translator is a plus, but not a core requirement.
