Assistant Executive Director (IDD Services)
Description
Community Options, Inc. is a national non-profit agency providing services to individuals with disabilities in 12 states.
We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Assistant Executive Director of IDD Services in Salt Lake, Utah. The Assistant Executive Director works with the Executive Director to maintain a high-quality program in accordance with the mission statement, state and National office standards, and policies of Community Options Inc.
Responsibilities
- May be responsible for all daily operations and for compliance with state licensing and reporting standards
- Formulate and implement an advisory board which will assist the organization, and develop and expand their resources, thereby improving service delivery
- Present a clear picture of issues related to local operations to the Executive Director and/or the National office, outlining possible solutions, and indicating advantages and disadvantages
- Assist the Executive Director with the development and implementation of fundraising activities
- Recommend sound personnel practices regarding employee recruitment, evaluations, compensation, employee benefits, and terminations
- Institute and maintain appropriate management, financial and personnel controls, and provide the National office with the necessary documentation and paperwork
- Prepare required statistical, financial, and service reports as needed
- Promote and maintain the public image of Community Options, Inc., in the state and local area
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with local, state, and governmental agencies
- Participate in developing long and short-term department goals, objectives, and systems
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record
- Team-oriented with demonstrated leadership experience
- Experience with problem solving against multiple priorities
- Ability to establish a comfortable and supportive relationship with individuals receiving supports
- Ability to exercise good judgment and remain calm in crisis situations
- Understanding and commitment to community-based support for persons with disabilities
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of checks of criminal background, central registry, child abuse registry, and drug testing
