Common Ground is seeking a full-time (40 hrs/wk) Victim Advocate. This position is scheduled to work Monday through Friday, day shift - with some overtime and occasional weekends as needed based on client needs and community partner requests. Base pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour.
About You 
The Victim Advocate - Human Trafficking will provide emergency mobile crisis intervention, advocacy, and support to human trafficking victims in multiple counties. This position is responsible for evaluating individuals for program eligibility. The Victim Advocate will act as the liaison with relevant police departments, prosecutor’s office, community, and agency organizations. If you wish to serve those in crisis, we invite you to apply! Day In The Life 
  • Provide direct mobile services to human trafficking victims and their families in multiple counties, including but not limited to
    • Crisis intervention, including telephone, on-scene face-to-face contact
    • Eligibility screening
    • Provide information and referrals
    • Intensive case management
    • Support and advocacy during criminal investigations and law enforcement intervention
    • Emergency advocacy at hospitals, medical proceedings, and police departments
    • Support and advocacy during court preparation including courtroom accompaniment
  • Perform emergency screenings in a variety of community settings, including hospital emergency rooms, county and local jails, schools, shelters, community centers, etc.
 
What You Need To Apply 
  • Valid Michigan driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Reliable personal transportation with a clean driving record to ensure immediate response for community and crisis events
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Services field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience working in victim services or crisis intervention/mental health services
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish, Arabic, or American Sign Language), preferred
  • Lived experience, strongly preferred
  • Experience working with survivors of human trafficking, strongly preferred
