The Columbus Organization is expanding its team of LVN’s in the Great State of Texas!

Interviews now being scheduled for Licensed Vocational Nurses serving a residential facility serving IDD clients in Carlsbad, TX.   Minimum of two years of nursing experience working in an acute or long-term care setting required.
Shift Availability: 8-hour shifts:  6 a.m. to 2 p.m. or 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Knowledge of nursing procedures and techniques and the principles and processes used in providing patient care.  Knowledge of health care laws.
  • Ability to provide patient care and to prepare and maintain records, communicate effectively, and train others. 
  • Ability to apply principles and practices to assess, prevent and control diseases. 
  • Skills in using reasoning to identify problems, in considering the appropriate resolution of situations, and in the operation of computers and applicable computer software.  

Job Requirements:

  • Licensed to practice Nursing in Texas
  • 1 year, but preferably 2+ years as a direct care nurse
  • Experience needs to be hospital acute care, LTC, or NH (not Home Health)
  • Competent in advanced skills such as gastrostomy tubes/enteral feedings, Foley catheters, tracheostomies, etc.
  • Must maintain current CPR certification.
