Web Development Manager

The Web Development Manager directs, manages, supervises and coordinates the activities of development staff that perform technical systems analysis, design, development, and maintenance activities in support of the business web sites. The Web Development Manager is a technical leader and possesses advanced technical and business knowledge and skills. The Web Development Manager is skilled in information management techniques, structured system development methodologies, software development tools, change management theory, enterprise architecture, and web development technologies.


  • Optimize multiple branded websites to drive sales
  • Manage the development roadmap for the company’s intranet
  • Monitors project progress, tracking action items, conducting design and implementation reviews, examining, researching, and resolving issues, escalating issues to appropriate stakeholders, responding to team members' concerns, and coordinating requirements with key departments
  • Assures quality by developing and executing test plans
  • Maintains technical documentation
  • Participates in all project phases from design, development and testing to production
  • Lead a team of developers -- manage resources, assignments and tasks across the team
  • Drive platform architecture direction 
  • Hands-on development of both front-end and back-end Translate complex business and functional requirements into technical designs
  • Collaborate with other development teams and conduct proof of concepts

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Seven years of Web development experience
  • Three years of management experience
  • BS in Computer Science or related field preferred
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of HTML, CSS, Java and JavaScript 
  • Experience working with and developing in PHP
  • Experience working with working in and configuring various CMS
  • Understanding of HTTP, XML, JSON and web technologies
  • Working knowledge of databases and SQL
  • Ensure team members participate in training and education to ensure knowledge base is in par with latest technologies and trends
  • Hands-on experience, Java Script, CSS, HTML, XML, and JQuery in a enterprise level setting
  • Experience with implementation of enterprise wide upgrades, including operating systems, Content Management Systems (CMS), and server upgrades.
  • Experience with software development methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, etc.) with large and complex projects

Physical and Mental Requirements: 

  • Ability to sit at a computer monitor for extended periods of time
  • Ability to perform repetitive finger, hand, and arm movements
  • Ability to lift up to 15lbs.
  • Ability to effectively discern information and formulate appropriate action
  • Ability to reach, squat, bend, and manually manipulate standard office equipment
