About the Role:

 

The Retail Engagement Manager’s primary focus is to lead and implement sales initiatives to support regional revenue goals by creating and fostering a culture of exceptional client service, client relationship acquisition and growth.    Engagement Managers accomplish this by developing the skills and acumen of Retail & Digital branch associates and leaders using established programs and tools that are proven to result in Finding new client relationships, growing client relationships, and keeping client relationships.   

 

  • Lead and implement sales initiatives to support regional goals by creating and fostering a culture of exceptional client service and client relationship acquisition and growth.
  • Teach, Train, and Model the use of UB Way practices to branch team members and leaders to help identify and recommend appropriate bank products and services to clients. Actively participate in and support Market Region Managers, Region Managers, and Branches with business development, client and prospect calling, and other relationship building activities.
  • Create and implement tools to deepen client relationships through the use of Client and Business Financial Reviews.
  • Provide strong support to branches and regions in meeting or exceeding financial goals in lending, deposit, and NII/revenue generation.
  • Identify innovative ideas and enhancements of ways to generate revenue and enrich sales and service performance through both nontraditional and traditional channels.
  • Drive communication, inspiration, and recognition with regards to campaign results
  • Work with Branch Managers on the successful onboarding of new team members in relation to the use of Breakthrough Client Service practices and use of the UB Way.
  • Build reward and recognition programs to include campaigns, promotions, and quarterly and annual awards.
  • Build and maintain close working relationships with operational partners to ensure leadership has one voice. 
  • Collaborate with all lines of business and departments of the Bank to add value and drive broad and appropriate solutions for clients.
  • Foster and reinforce the Bank’s Do Right Together culture at all times
  • Effectively support Retail Banking compliance with corporate policy and goals
  • Demonstrates compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job function and applies to designated job responsibilities – knowledge may be gained through coursework and on-the-job training. Keeps up to date on regulation changes.
  • Follows all Bank policies and procedures, compliance regulations, and completes all required annual or job-specific training.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of Bank's written policies and procedures regarding Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security and other regulations as applicable to this job description.
  • May be asked to coach, mentor, or train others and teach coursework as subject matter expert.
  • Actively learns, demonstrates, and fosters the Columbia corporate culture in all actions and words.

About You:

 

  • High school diploma or GED, required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferred.
  • 7+ years of retail banking management experience or the commercial equivalent, required.
  • 7+ years of consumer and small business lending experience, required.
  • 7+ years of experience supporting multiple retail banking locations, preferred.
  • Strong coaching, mentoring and teaching skills to support associate learning, development and success.
  • Business banking acumen.
  • Change management leadership skills
  • Ability to understand the importance of technology in the retail banking model
  • Solid understanding of operating and compliance regulations
  • Experience supporting the sales goals and budgets of multiple locations
  • Experience identifying potential development and implementation of a marketing plan to gain new business and retain existing customers
  • Sales leadership skills

We offer a competitive total rewards package including base wages and comprehensive benefits. The pay range for this role is $90,000 - $110,000, and the pay rate for the selected candidate is dependent upon a variety of non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, education, and geographic location. The role may be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation and those details will be provided during the recruitment process.
