About the Role:
- The Senior Hedging Consultant performs as a primary contact for Relationship Managers (RM) and internal management. This IRHS team member will be immersed in deal structuring and transaction execution and will be trained in all aspects of Back Office operations and a range of legal/documentation matters. In addition, this IRHS team member will: Participate in and lead various IRHS initiatives of moderate to complex scope. Through systematic coverage, liaise effectively with Relationship Managers (RM) ensuring appropriate use of IRHS products and meet established IRHS team budget targets. Actively market derivatives products, using a consultant sales approach to Qualified Borrowers via in person meetings and conference calls. In addition, undertake regular internal marketing to RMs and bank management.
- Manage customer service standards, ensuring an exceptional level of client service through responsiveness, availability and expertise. With an erratic transaction flow and often high volume of client demands, this position requires excellent prioritization, time management, multitasking, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Operate within the IRHS team environment which is marked by a high level of cooperation, support, timely feedback and peer mentoring.
- Adhere to the highest standards of conduct at all times to ensure that Umpqua’s best practices are implemented and followed to minimize risks associated with derivative products (Counterparty Funding Risk, Market Risk, Operating Risk, Price Risk, Regulatory Risk, Reputational Risk, Settlement Risk, etc.).
- Demonstrate compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job function and applies to designated job responsibilities – knowledge may be gained through coursework and on-the-job training. Keep up to date on regulation changes.
- Follows all Bank policies and procedures, compliance regulations, and completes all required annual or job-specific training.
- Maintain a working knowledge of Bank's written policies and procedures regarding Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security and other regulations as applicable to this job description.
- Possibly be asked to coach, mentor, or train others and teach coursework as subject matter expert.

About You:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics or equivalent experience level (Required).
- 2-4 of experience in interest rate hedging or commercial banking (Required).
- Ability and willingness to train and present to small and large audiences of varying sophistication complex concepts in a manner that are easily understood.
- Requires a high level of intellectual curiosity, as well as the drive to build lasting relationships and improve processes is required.
- Strong PowerPoint skills for developing and maintaining key customer and internal presentations.
- Ability to identify process improvement opportunities, lead and contribute to projects that directly improve customer service, operational procedures, or reduce risk.
- Thorough understanding of the Front-To-Back trade event life cycle processing and subject matter expertise in Interest Rate Derivatives.
- Enthusiasm and commitment to a team-based working environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication and partnering skills.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals and across department lines to manage internal and external relationships that are mission critical.
- Consistent, high level of attention to detail, deadline driven, and ability to work within the bounds of a defined process.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in the use of computer software including Word, Excel and banking systems.

We offer a competitive total rewards package including base wages and comprehensive benefits. The pay range for this role is [$85,543.00 - $150,000.00], and the pay rate for the selected candidate is dependent upon a variety of non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, education, and geographic location. The role may be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation and those details will be provided during the recruitment process.
