Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Corporate Controller is primarily responsible for direct supervision of all accounting and financial functions. The Corporate Controller will also be responsible for being a part of a Strategic Team responsible for the creation
and implementation of company objectives and initiatives that will contribute positively to future company growth.

Major responsibilities of the role include:

  • Manages the process for financial reporting including monthly financial statement compilation, analysis, and financial discussion preparation.
  • Supervises accounts payable, cash application, invoicing to customers, administration of Fixed Assets, timely tax filing, financial statement compilation, analysis, and distribution, and the review and implementation of related internal controls as well as compliance with tax and legal obligations.
  • Coordinates and supervises company audit processes including annual financial audits, workers compensation audits, income tax audits, etc.
  • Works closely with company public accounting and tax firms.
  • Supervises and manages employees in all accounting functions including Cash Application, Accounts Payable, Invoicing, Fixed Assets, Tax, and General Accounting.
  • Maintains effective relationships and provides reporting for lending institutions including covenant and borrowing base calculations.
  • Responsible for monthly reporting package to the Board.
  • Responsible for monthly borrowing base certificate calculation to the bank.
  • Participates in post-acquisition integration of companies and the opening of new locations.
  • Administers auto, workers compensation, and general liability insurance as well as accident reporting with insurance company.
  • Maintains legal compliance with government agencies by filing appropriate annual reports.
  • Supports company CFO in regards to ad hoc reporting and projects.
  • Responsible for the weekly company 401K plan reporting.
  • Provides executive management with advice on the financial implications of business activities and alternative courses of action.
  • Performs personnel functions such as selection, training, and evaluation including conducting interviews, making hiring decisions, and participating in onboarding activities.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources on determining initial pay for new employees and salary/position changes to existing employees.¬†
  • Coaches, mentors, and develops existing employees and resolves performance problems and discrepancies.
  • Conducts timely performance evaluations by monitoring performance and initiating action to strengthen results with goal setting.
  • Implements and reinforces company policies, goals, objectives, and procedure
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements
  • College Degree in Accounting or related discipline required.
  • CMA or CPA required.
  • Minimum 10 years of Controller or Assistant Controller experience required.
  • Experience with multi-locational financial statement consolidations with $100 million-plus company required.
  • Experience with Netsuite or other major ERP systems¬†
