Delivery Driver (Non-CDL) & Warehouse
Description
As a Delivery Driver / Warehouse Associate with Colony Hardware, you will begin the journey of bringing customer orders to life. To do this you will utilize your willingness to produce high quality, detailed and accurate work to ensure the mission to provide excellent customer service is completed.
A Little About Your Day:
- From day to day, you will be responsible for the pickup and delivery of merchandise in a safe, timely, and courteous manner.
- You will load your truck with packed orders, sorting and organizing the merchandise so that it can be easily located.
- Operating with a strong attention to detail, you will perform your pre-trip and post-trip inspections of your vehicle, equipment, paperwork and loaded product to ensure your safety.
- You will check in frequently with the customer to announce arrival, collect payments from customers, and ensure all signatures are received.
- Collects payments from customers if required and verifies cash payment with customer prior to accepting payment to ensure correct collection.
- Assists in warehouse with picking/packing, loading/unloading, and other responsibilities as assigned.
- From day to day, you will safely load and unload construction materials such as form panels, fabricated rebar, lumber, wire mesh, tools, fasteners, and other supplies.
- You will safely operate a forklift or similar equipment as needed to stage, load, unload, or move product.
- You will assist with all warehouse activities, shipping, and receiving responsibilities as assigned.
- You will maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure that items are easy to locate and in appropriate locations.
What You’ll Need for Success
- A minimum of three years of prior driving experience and deliveries.
- A minimum of one year in a warehouse or distribution environment.
- You must be 21 years of age or older.
- A valid driver’s license with a sustained record of safe driving.
- Ability to move around warehouse/loading dock majority of day, as well as stepping into/out of vehicles, climbing stairs, bend, stoop, and kneel in small spaces.
- Basic computer skills, including telephone, cellphone, GPS.
- Ability to lift up to 80 lbs unassisted.
- Prior experience operating a forklift is a plus.
