Colony Hardware is currently seeking a Branch Manager to join our team! 

Reporting to the Area Operations/Regional Manager, the Branch Manager’s main responsibility is to oversee all operation functions of the branch while managing the operations staff, preparing work schedules, and assigning specific duties. The Branch Manager also directs and coordinates all activities that relate to the successful on time delivery of products to customers.

Major Responsibilities

  • Confers with customers on a daily basis to address questions or problems and requests for service or products.
  • Manages sales counter and inbound calls to maximize sales and customer service.
  • Interacts with branch and corporate associates on a daily basis to disseminate information and ensure proper work flow and adherence to policy and procedure
  • Schedules and dispatches drivers and service vehicles to appropriate locations according to customer requests, specifications or needs.
  • Relays messages and work orders to drivers as needed.
  • Arranges for necessary vehicle repairs in order to restore customer service and schedules.
  • Maintains proactively all vehicles including oil changes and issues found in pre/post trip vehicle inspections, which must be signed off on by the supervisor.
  • Assures that drivers are filling out vehicle pre/post trip inspection reports daily.
  • Prepares daily work and delivery schedules.
  • Receives/prepares work orders and prioritizes delivery routes according to route codes.
  • Performs daily cycle counts and adjusts inventory accordingly.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of UPS and/or FedEx shipping and receiving.
  • Monitors associate behavior to address issues or concerns with drivers and/or warehouse personnel hired through 3rd party vendor.
  • Partners with vendors to resolve issues.
  • Acts as trainer, coach and mentor to staff, discussing any employee issues with the Regional Manager
  • Operates various machinery in the Distribution Center such as a forklift and automated pallet jack.
  • Ensures the orderliness and cleanliness of the branch including the shipping/receiving areas and the loading dock.
  • Ensures that all items have a bin location and are in the correct location.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities through The Evergreen Marketing Group.
  • Performs personnel functions such as selection, training, and evaluation including conducting interviews, making hiring decisions, and participating in onboarding activities.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources on determining initial pay for new employees and salary/position changes to existing employees. 
  • Coaches, mentors, and develops existing employees and resolves performance problems and discrepancies.
  • Conducts timely performance evaluations by monitoring performance and initiating action to strengthen results with goal setting.
  • Implements and reinforces company policies, goals, objectives, and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

High school degree or equivalent required.

College degree in related discipline preferred.

Minimum of 2-3 years’ in a managerial or directorial position preferred; experience in a Distribution environment responsible for warehouse/driver management.

Valid Driver’s License. Motor Vehicle Record must show a record of sustained safe driving with no violations in the last 3 years.

Ability to navigate websites and able to see, review, and interpret computer images and written documents.

Excellent communication skills including speaking, reading, and writing in the English language with the ability to converse verbally with others on the phone and/or in person.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and climb stairs, stretch, and bend.

Must have outstanding customer service skills with the ability to interpret customer needs as well as demonstrate a customer service mindset when dealing with internal and external customers.

Ability to operate motorized warehouse equipment, such as a forklift, in a safe manner and exit and enter vehicles several times per day.

Must be comfortable with warehouse technology, such as warehouse management systems, signature capture devices, vehicle GPS, etc.
