Objective
This position is responsible for applying generally accepted accounting principles and procedures to maintain accurate financial records, complete month-end close activities, prepare financial reports and reconciliations and support effective financial controls for The Church of Eleven22® and its subsidiaries.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain an authentic and growing walk with Jesus Christ through the ongoing spiritual disciplines of Bible reading, prayer, personal worship, fasting, confession and fellowship
- Prepare month-end close by compiling and analyzing all account information
- Post and process journal entries to ensure all transactions are recorded
- Review and prepare balance sheet reconciliations and other reports
- Support day-to-day activities such as cash receipts, disbursements and general ledger maintenance for daily operations
- Maintain and update debt amortization schedules
- Support the preparation of budgets for select ministries
- Manage lease accounting in accordance with ASC 842, including reviewing agreements, maintaining lease schedules, calculating required accounting entries and recording related journal entries
- Support audit fieldwork requests and provide required documents in a timely manner
- Collaborate and assist with team members on accounting projects as necessary
- Support adherence to accounting policies, internal controls and procedures
- Monitor compliance with regulatory requirements and assist with financial policy updates
- Maintain staff confidence and protect operations by keeping financial information confidential and restricted

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance strongly preferred
- Three to five years of accounting experience with experience in a variety of accounting concepts, practices and procedures
- Non-profit accounting experience preferred
Expected Hours of Work
Work Hours Expectations: 40 hours or more.
Schedule Expectations: Monday through Friday (hours may vary based on church needs to include working weekends).
The church has several big events (“All-Skates”) throughout the year to help further the mission of Eleven22. These events are mandatory for all staff to be in attendance and may vary, depending on the vision cast for the current year.

Work Environment/Physical Demands
This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers and filing cabinets. This is primarily a sedentary role requiring extended periods of sitting and frequent computer and screen time. Some filing and movement throughout the office may be required, including occasional bending, standing and reaching as necessary.
Ministerial Exception
The ministerial exception furthers the purposes of the Free Exercise and Establishment Clauses of the First Amendment by barring legal claims against church bodies by staff members who perform religious functions. All church pastors are subject to the exception, but a formal ministerial credential is not required. While there is no rigid formula to determine other church staff members that qualify, various factors are considered to determine which staff members are subject to the ministerial exception (please see handbook).
