Job Title: Donations Warehouse Associate

Ministry/Department: Hope’s Closet Thrift – San Pablo

Reports to: Donations Operation Manager

Status: Part-time

Supervisory Role: Yes

Objective

To support and help execute daily donations warehouse operations while providing excellent customer service and keeping focus on The Church of Eleven22® and Hope's Closet® vision of being a movement for all people to discover and deepen a relationship with Jesus Christ.   

Key Responsibilities

  • Minister of the gospel  
  • Drive sales by executing daily warehouse operations and providing excellent customer service to our donors and customers
  • Maintain organization in donations operation– pre-sorting area, donation door, warehouse and stockroom
  • Help support Donations Operation Manager in donation receiving, sorting, processing and replenishment processes, packing and storage clothes in the warehouse, load and unload trucks using forklift, if necessary, between Hope’s Closet locations 
  • Maintain donation standards and assist in accomplishing donation goals. 
  • Assist in coordination and management of Hope's Closet serve staff in donation operations and serving opportunities

Education and Experience

  • 1-2 years of relevant work experience, including retail, stock handling or warehouse experience 
  • High school diploma preferred
  • Forklift certification preferred 
  • Must have excellent driving record, as verified through the state Motor Vehicle Department 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a part-time, non-exempt position which reports to the Donations Operation Manager. Days may vary by week due to the needs of the store and events. Weekend and holiday hours are a must. 

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional retail environment which includes both sales floor and warehouse/stockrooms. This position works mostly in the warehouse department which uses equipment like forklifts, hand carts, dollies, ladders, rolling carts, rolling racks and pallet jacks. 

Physical demands

Must be able to stand or walk on concrete flooring for prolonged time periods, bend, lift, grasp, reach, push and pull materials, walk on uneven surfaces, ladders and stairs, lift up to 50 lbs. and work outdoors where temperatures and climate can fluctuate.
