Job Title: Hope’s Closet Special Events Coordinator

Ministry/Department: Hope’s Closet Thrift

Reports to: Hope’s Closet Central Coordinator

Status: Seasonal, non-exempt, part-time

Supervisory Role: Yes

Objective

To support with coordinating and executing Hope’s Closet® special events while keeping focus on The Church of Eleven22® vision of being a movement for all people to discover and deepen a relationship with Jesus Christ.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Be a minister of the gospel  
  • Must be a self-starter and able to work independently and use discernment when non-routine situations arise
  • Comfortable casting vision, giving direction and pivoting as needed
  • Build and maintain serve staff teams through the organization and execution of serve staff recruiting plans
  • Champion excellent communication internally amongst store teams as well as externally to event attendees and serve staff
  • Support with executing a successful Christmas Toy Drive in collaboration with Eleven22 ministries and partners; aid in the sorting and distribution of supplies to ministry partners
  • Support with executing two Be-YOU-tiful Boutique events – including planning, processing inventory, main point of contact during events and set up/tear down
  • Capture meeting minutes as needed and provide follow-up support to central coordinator with action steps
  • Ability to focus on details, prioritize and meet deadlines while also keeping the big picture in mind
  • Execute serve staff appreciation thank you cards/gifts
  • Support with store’s needs and executing new events

Education and Experience

  • Preferred, but not required - Experience in event planning and execution of special events

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a part-time, non-exempt position that reports to the Central Store Coordinator. Days and hours may change weekly based on event and store needs. Weekends required.   

The church has several big events, (“All-Skates”) throughout the year to help further the mission of The Church of Eleven22 and Hope’s Closet. We encourage you to participate and serve at these events. The stores are closed during these events to ensure The Hope’s Closet team has the opportunity to participate in the spiritual formation of the church.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional retail environment which includes both sales floor, warehouse/stockrooms and office. This role uses a variety of equipment such as computers, copiers, printers and phones as well as clothing racks, pallet jacks and other retail equipment.

Physical Demands

Must be able to stand or walk on concrete flooring for prolonged time periods, bend, lift, grasp, reach, push and pull materials, walk on uneven surfaces, ladders and stairs and lift up to 50lbs.
